Resort: Cosy village in the centre of the island, 13 km north-west from Puerto del Carmen, 15 km north-east from Playa Blanca. For arrivals by plane: airport Lanzarote (ACE) 16 km. The district of Yaiza was the first area to be conquered and the first European settlement in the Canary islands. The main attraction in the district is, without doubt, the Parque nacional de Timanfaya, a unique location and one of the most relevant examples of volcanic activity in the group of islands. Yaiza is not just Timanfaya, one of the most beautiful areas in the Canaries, we can also admire the capital, with its well preserved and integrated with nature, untouched beaches and paradise bays with white sand which have today become protected areas of natural beauty. We can also see signs of the battle between man and nature. La Geria where the farmer has created true works of art in his battle against the wind and the elements.
