Tamarack 623 is filled with Jackson Hole art and memorabilia, from the modern winter town scene to the mountain lion print from the Wildlife Art Museum to the dozen historical photos of skiers, canoeists, fishermen, eccentric settlers, cowboys gambling in the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, and the indomitable 1915 all-woman Town Council that cleaned up Jackson Hole under the slogan “Roosters crow, hens deliver.” If you think we have snow this winter, check out the photo of the record 30-foot snowfall of 1947.

Relax around the fireplace after a long day of skiing the Tetons. The large 30-foot-ceiling family room features a 44-inch flat-screen TV with more than 50 cable channels, and there’s high-speed wireless Internet to keep up with email or post Facebook photos to make your friends back home jealous. The chairs are comfortable and the sleeper sofa pulls out into a large double bed for extra guests.

Both the first-floor and second-floor bedrooms feature new lodgepole Queen beds, private dressers, ample closets and their own flat-screen TV’s. The upstairs and downstairs bathrooms come with shower and tub, and the laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer for all those wet ski clothes. The upstairs loft area holds a lodge pole futon pullout that also sleeps two and a TV that’s perfect for kids to plug in their X-box 360s. (Or make them leave the X-box home and play Worst-Case Scenario, Apples to Apples or some of our other board games instead)

The dining room table seats six, and the full kitchen comes equipped with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffee pot, and a wide range of cooking utensils, pots and pans, dinnerware, mugs and glasses. Or, better still, you can cook with a view of the Tetons by throwing a few steaks on the charcoal grill on the patio.

You’ll love staying in the Aspens. There’s a fully equipped health club next door that offers inexpensive weekly rates for visiting families. It features an indoor and outdoor hot tub and an outdoor pool in the summer. Next door, the renowned Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis Club rents out indoor tennis courts.
