About the Home
Location, location, location! This cozy one level, one bedroom, one bathroom Gables vacation home is nestled between Whistler Village and Blackcomb Mountain and is only a 4 minute walk to the base of either mountain.

Common Areas
The main open concept living room features a presto log fireplace, CD player and an armoire that houses a small TV with a VCR and DVD player. Head out to the balcony via the sliding glass doors and enjoy a BBQ and the forested views. The fully equipped kitchen overlooks the dining area that seats 6 comfortably.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
The master bedroom features a queen bed and forested views. The adjacent separate bathroom features a single vanity and bathtub with overhead shower. For extra guests, there is a sofabed in the living room.

Added Conveniences
Gables #56 offers secured underground parking for one vehicle, free wireless internet and in-suite laundry. There is a bike rack in the underground parking garage but guests will need to supply their own bike lock.

#56 at the gables was a very neat and tidy place, We will definitely return and recommend this particular unit to others. Great loacation and a very warm feeling being surrounded by the mountain and tree scapes. We spent 8 days here.Every thing works great, I would maybe recommend a microwave and tv upgrade, and the bath/shower tap maybe an upgrade as well, but in saying that - they still work fine.

We liked the location and size of the condo . It had everything we needed plus washer and dryer. Quiet location but close enough to the action . Check In and out was in a different location so you really need a car to find it . Parking was great underground so no snow to have to brush off your car. We would recommend staying there. Remember to ask for a map of where your condo is located it is confusing and the condo numbers are hidden. We liked using the fireplace. No pool or jacuzzi but go check out the Scandinave spa!

There were a few issues with this property, curtains, bedding and kitchen need updating. Its nice location, short walk to the ski lifts.

Two weeks in June in The Gable #56

Whistler Platinum were very good with all arrangements, extremely professional and dealt with our requests very promptly. We could not fault them in any way. The Gables is in a great location, only a short walk to both Whistler Village and Blackcomb base. This was the main reason we chose the property. Overall the property (#56) is good but it would benefit from better and more modern facilities and equipment, particularly kitchen crockery and utensils and TV. The fridge/freezer and Internet/WiFi are very good and cooker and dishwasher are ok. The furniture is fine, albeit a bit dated. The deck area was unusable as it, the plastic chairs and the barbecue were all very dirty (as a result of being near/under a number of trees) and it did not have an outside table. Had the weather been better, we would have liked to have used the deck and barbecue, however we could not do so in any event because the weather was generally too rainy and cold. The condition of deck, etc could be a problem with any guest renting the property in the better months of July, August and possibly September. The property was in a spotless condition when we arrived, which was very pleasing. The maintenance of the property could be improved as there were certain items that need attention, however these were only relatively minor items which did not affect the use or enjoyment of the property. The underground garage and external parking are very good. Overall the property is good when considering the price, location and general good aspects. The negative points we have noted were not in any way sufficient to outway the many good points about the property. Our best recommendation is that we would, without any hesitation, rent it again and with Whistler Platinum.

Kicked out too early, and gave wrong info about ski school

We had ski school at the last day of our stay, but the property management insisted that the latest possible checkout can be noon, although the unit was vacant after us. After long negotiations we were allowed to keep the car on guest parking spot, and ended up changing the clothes after skiing near the car. Unlike all resorts in tropical climate we were not offered any place for changing or showering. Moreover, we were told that we cannot use the shower at Woodrun lodge, because we were not the guests any more.At time of reservation the info about meeting location of the ski school we reserved was wrong. It was not at the bottom of gondola, but at the top of Whistler mounrain.

We loved the mountain views. Pierre had been there before, but it was my first time in BC. Skiing was the best. Our lodgings were top notch, with only one complaint. We found the cuttlery very dated and old looking. The coffee maker could be replaced with a thermos coffee maker......We would definetly stay there again. Thank you for your profesionalism. We had a comfortable stay here for our Whistler trip. The location is perfect. Less than a two minute walk to the village and lifts but tucked in some trees for quiet and privacy. Really enjoyed the stay here. Whistler Platinum staff were great and the overall experience was perfect for a Whistler vacation. Can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed staying in the gables #56. Positive:- Connection to the walk ways through park to main village and upper village, just a few 100 meters to the lifts are wonderful.- high speed WiFi internet connection- Dedicated parking spot in garage- Washing machine and dryer (however I had the feeling the washing machine did not wash properly - but this could be because I did not know how to operate the machine correctly)- very nice appartment incl. fireplace with nice furnitures and some personal touch accessories.Minus:Appartment and appliances need some maintenance.- Cement between tiles in bathroom needs repair- Some drawers of chests of drawers in sleeping room were broken- Coffee maker did not work properly, I had to boil water on stove- Alarm clock was broken - time could be set, but as soon as alarm time is set, regular time display does not work- Some lamps did not work properly.

The Gables itself is an excellent location. Close to the village yet very quiet and private. We were in Unit 56. Definitely kitchen facilities, utensils etc needs updating. Would stay again at the Gables but would look for a unit that has been renovated.

We had a fantastic time in whistler enhanced by the superb accommodation.We stayed in the very same place back in the summer after competing in the bc bike race so we knew it had a fantastic location.Super close (3mins)to Blackcombe lifts(5mins) to whistler along a very pretty walk.Can't recomend it highly enough a real home away from home.We'll be back for sure very soon!

Love The Gables. Great location on the path between Whistler and Blackcomb villages so just a quick walk to either. Older condos but homey and cosy. Love hearing the river from the condo.

A really great stay in Whistler. Right next to the sky lifts and the back of Whistler village, only a 3 minute walk! #56 was a great place to stay with everything we needed. I highly recommend it!

Great location, and 3rd time we have stayed there - but we will not stay there again unless and until the property is refurbished. The bedroom and bathroom furniture (urgently) need reburbished: they are substandard. The bathroom floor (very urgently) needs replaced. Other issues are more minor: you should be able to play MP3 players through the sound system; the supplied crockery is too cheap. So - improve or lose!
