No matter what time of year you visit you?ll enjoy the lodge style accommodations this rental offers. The main level features an open and spacious living area, complete with wood fireplace, 32-inch flat screen TV and ample windows and glass doors leading to the expansive deck overlooking the beautiful New River. The gourmet kitchen features an large octagonal granite island, professional grade gas stove/oven, double dishwashers, a wine refrigerator, a double copper apron sink and a large farmhouse table with seating for 10.The roomy master on the main level features a queen size bed, gas log fireplace, and private master bath complete with a luxurious Jacuzzi tub and two-person shower. A private porch featuring an outdoor fireplace and two-person chaise lounge overlooking the New River and surrounding woods is accessible from the master bedroom. A half bath and laundry room are also included on the main level.

The second level offers three bedrooms, each with a queen bed and walk in closet. Two of the bedrooms feature a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

On the lower level, you will find a bonus living area with kitchenette and a wood burning fireplace.

As beautiful as the interior of the lodge is, you will find so many reasons to enjoy the outdoors too. The expansive deck is the perfect place to soak in the outdoors, featuring an outdoor fireplace, hanging hammock chairs and a charcoal grill.

Offering over 650 feet of gorgeous, private riverfront access, you will find plenty of on-site fun geared towards the entire family. Explore the wooded trail along the river, relax in a hammock along the water?s edge, cool off during the day or drown a worm?.all right in your own backyard. New River Bend Lodge less than ideal for Merlefest A guest from Shaker Heights, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 The house itself is large and impressive but obviously unfinished as far as construction is concerned. The lot is nicely located for river access. There were mice and evidence of mice present. The dishes and glasses were dusty and required washing before use. One of the double drawer dishwashers was non-functional. The most significant drawback was location/access to the property. I doubt we could have found it if we had arrived after dark. The locked gate was not listed on the directions and signage (address marker) was not visible in the dark. We would not want to rent this property for Merlefest. It might be okay as a destination if one was planning to stick close to home but it was challenging to return to at night after a long day in Wilkesboro. Thanks Property Manager Response: Response from Ashe High Country Vacations LLC This house is a little off the beaten path but privacy and almost 500' of river frontage make this a unique and hard to find vacational rental. Unfortunately little critters can be an issue for vacation rental homes especially since they are not inhabited full time, the property is on a pest control program. Please keep in mind this vacationer just does not recommend for Merlefest which is in Wilkesboro, a good 30 minute drive away.
