There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, two with queen beds, and small bedroom has a twin. There is a full bath upstairs and one downstairs, as well as two more bedrooms, one with 2 twins and the other with a queen bed. Additionally, there are two sleeper sofas. It is a very large house that handled our tribe of people very well. The front room and kitchen area is fantastic for large gatherings and the downstairs worked out well for the little ones to entertain themselves. There are lots of windows to give light to the rooms and the front and back decks are handy for entertaining guests if you want to sit outside. The house had everything in it that you would want for cooking and cleaning for your stay. We all enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place for your large family gatherings. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 We rented from Bayshore rentals a couple of years ago and found this property easily on your website. Sounded and looked great and we knew the location so everything was good.Upon arrival, I was disappointed at the shape of the home. Things are old and wearing out and the house really needs an overhaul. Great location and great access and nice layout. However, the door to the BBQ deck was dryrotted and fell apart when my wife opened it. The BBQ was disgusting and had to be cleaned thoroughly before we could use it.Windows wouldn't crank open, doors wouldn't lock properly. The deadbolt locks on the exit doors need to be replaced with two way locks that can be opended by anyone trying to exit the home. If they are locked with a key, they are a firetrap waiting to happen.The home could be great with some remodeling and updating. Very good layout and spacious but lacking in the details. 16th Annual Beach Trip A guest from Springfield, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 This was our 16th stay in The Gathering Place for our 16th summer at Bayshore. We love 'our' summer beach house. The only bad thing was my mom falling at GGs where my cousins were staying. The garbage cans were on the sidewalk on the side of the house. When she walked around them she tripped on one of the rocks that was out of line with the others. She fell on a sharp rock and cut her thumb. Twelve stitches were needed to sew the skin back on her thumb. This was done at the Newport Hospital in the emergency room. We are so thankful she did not hit her head. She was put on a painkiller and when she got home to Springfield she had to make an appointment with her doctor who had to prescribe antibiotics and a tetanus shot. She has been referred to a hand specialist due to the severity of the injury. Tendons were traumatized in the accident. The cleaning ladies for our rental were very concerned about the garbage cans and rocks at GGs so they told us they were going to make sure the trip hazard was remedied. They were very sweet & kind, and wanted to quickly fix the problem. :-) Property Manager Response: Response from Bayshore Rentals LLC We are so sorry that your grandmother fell and injured herself. There are no rocks out of place, it's a rockery that divides the two homes. I am not sure what she tripped on but we do feel badly about it. The best part about this house is the large dining area. The table fits 8-10 people comfortably, plus there is bar seating and two patio sets for additional seating.
