The fabulous Keawakapu Beach is just a short 10 minute stroll from the Palms at Wailea. Keawakapu Beach is world famous for its long sandy beach, great snorkeling, and the most magnificent sunsets imaginable. In the winter the whales can be seen cavorting off of this beach as well as sea turtles and dolphins. The Palms at Wailea is a gorgeous property; lush with tropical landscaping. There is a large pool and hot tub that is perfect for sunbathing and has a magnificent view of the ocean from the pool area. A Comfortable and Attractive Home Away from Home A guest from Palo Alto, California recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in November, 2012 We enjoyed our stay at the Palms and look forward to staying there again in the future. Our unit had a better view of the ocean than I had expected and it looked out on a beautiful lawn and pond. It was convenient to the pool but far enough away to be quiet. The spacious outdoor deck had a very nice propane powered grill. The deck had full sun in the morning so it was more comfortable to be out there later in the afternoon. The unit was light and spacious with good air circulation when the windows and doors were open; we never turned on the air conditioning (which was only in the master bedroom) even though the temperatures were in the low 80's during the day. The pillow top mattress in the master bedroom was too soft for my husband's back so we slept on the queen size bed in the 2nd bedroom and it had a comfortable firm mattress. The unit was well supplied, including a bodysurfing board, beach towels and beach chairs -- and soap for the washing machine, cascade for the dish washer, etc. We also liked the keyless entry, the internet and the general location of the property. It was only a short drive to several beaches and about a 10 minute walk to the closest beach. Will will recommend the Palms enthusiastically to our friends. I was happy with everything this condo had to offer. The only bummer was the Shower head in the master bath. It was old and needed replacing, the calcium build up clogged it up! Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 1) We ate outside and there were bird droppings all over the deck railings and the dining table was not clean. We would be more that glad to clean it if there had been a brush to do that. 2) The sheets on the master bed were soured. We had to change them before we could sleep on the bed our first night. It was fine after changing them.3) We enjoyed the stay and hope to come back. You accomodations were nice and we certainly found your booking service very accomodating. Maui August 2010 A guest from Victoria, B.C., recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in August, 2010 We have stayed at the Palms in Wailea quite a few times and in several different units. Unit #1204 had a nice view of the ocean and the table on the lanai easily fit the 5 of us. The unit is looking a little bit "tired" though. Several of the kitchen cabinet doors won't shut and the unit could use some updating. The TV's were old and the one in the bedroom had a humming noise and distorted picture. We initially did not have internet access but a modem was eventually brought to us after we complained so that we were able to have internet on the 2nd week of our vacation.Overall, we like the location and the spacious condo's. With the increasing cost of rent,however, the units should be updated. The grounds and pool area are also beautifully maintained and spacious. Palms worth a look A guest from North Vancouver, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2010 Though there are many options in the area, the Palms at Wailea is a case of value for money being equalled. Our recent stay contained a few issues, headed largely by small insects that is a part of life in the area. A service request to fix a shower head problem resulted in an immediate response, but sadly no follow-up. A bigger issue was the fact that the inventory of kitchen utensils was woefully inefficient. A unit of this calibre and price point should, for example, contain place mats. Our unit could also probably use a coat of paint; we had stayed in this complex previously and some of the units have not kept with the times; rentor beware.
