This was our first trip to Maui and were definitely happy to stay in the Wailea area. While the south shore is a relatively dry part of the island, the Wailea Elua community is beautifully landscaped and is a tropical paradise. The condo was just a short walk down the hill through the community to the beach but there was also a parking lot so you could drive down if you have a lot of stuff to carry like we did with our 2 small children and all the beach stuff. We would definitely recommend this condo and will return here on our next trip to Maui. Although Elua is a little bit older village, this unit (2110) has been updated and is pleasantly devoid of any of the early-80's feel that some of the other units have. The bathrooms & kitchen are beautiful and obviously were renovated recently. It's a very roomy & comfortable space with a fantastic view from the living room & lanai. The location is very good. Although it's one of the furthest buildings in Elua from the beach, it's still only a couple minute walk through beautiful grounds. (Looking at a satellite view, this unit is on the top floor of the building in the very SE corner of Elua village.) Of course, you're paying less than the folks in the oceanfront units, too. The Shops at Wailea are an easy walk. Head down to the beach path at sunset and stroll to the Four Seasons for dinner, which you can afford because you're getting a spacious and tastefully decorated 2-bedroom condo for less per night than a standard hotel room there. It was a long walk down to the beach even though it says ocean front, it was a hike down to the beach. Don't leave anything back at the condo, the walk back and forth is long. You Won't Be Disappointed... Holly L. from Vista, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in November, 2010 The Wailea Elua #2110 property really met all of our expectations. The sunset views of the ocean that we enjoyed everyday were something more like what you see in a painting. The property is well maintained and the amenities such as the pool are "resort like". The location is close to a number of excellent beaches and an upscale shopping mall. There is a golf course right across the street. I think most important (because, after all, it is Maui-you kind of expect a lot of what I am writing about) was that the property is set up with a "homey" touch that allows you to relax and not feel like you are just staying in a hotel or time share. Certainly, you can go to a many different Maui sites if you like, but we certainly enjoyed grabbing a book to read, sitting on the balcony and watching the sun go down as much as anything else we did while on the island.
