ALAUA HALE IS A KOA AND REDWOOD CUSTOM-BUILT BEAUTY located in the resort town of Waikoloa Village, on the west side of the Big Island, also known as the Kohala Coast or Gold Coast, about 30 miles north of Kona. The island's best white sand beaches, championship golf courses, and Dolphin Quest at Hilton Waikoloa are only a short 10-minute drive away. And this gorgeous house costs less than half of most rooms at the resort hotels!

THIS SPACIOUS, 2000 SQ FT HOME has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a very well equipped kitchen, and a huge great room with spectacular views through its many windows. The house is comfortably and tastefully furnished and is decorated with objets d'art from around the world.

THE MASTER BEDROOM SUITE boasts an elevated king bed, sitting area, and immaculate redwood and blue tile master bath with clawfoot rosepetal bathtub and dual shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has a hotel double. There is also a second full bath in green tile and redwood.

WAIKOLOA IS A GOLFER'S PARADISE, boasting 3 championship courses. Our guests at Alaua Hale are eligible to receive discounts at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course, just 5 minutes from the house. The 6,791-yard par-72 course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., is a favorite of local golfers and features complete practice facilities and a pro shop. Our guests can get free access to the pool facilities at the Waikoloa Village Golf Course as well.

ALAUA HALE OFFERS FREE HIGH-SPEED INTERNET, free long distance to the US and Canada, a home gym machine, all linens including sheets and towels, telephone, washer/dryer, cable TV, DVD, and a stereo system. It could have been more convenient to the beach, but the drive was short and pretty. My favorite thing was waking up to all the bird songs in the morning. Cool breezes come in at night and encourage you to relax and go to bed early. Well equipped kitchen for big cookers like us, and very charming personal touches throughout. We never thought to ask if a property in Hawaii would be air conditioned and this was not. It was recommended to air out the property by opening all the windows and letting the fresh air. But with frequent departures from the property, this is an ineffective way to keep a comfortable temperature.The furniture is dated and a bit musty in the bathrooms.We traveled with a lot of small children and the location was not convenient to getting to the beach. There were no extra beach towels. There were traps out for lizards or mice and my children could easily have gotten hurt from them. although the booking process was quite pleasant...the stay was a big disappointment.
