CONVENIENCE- Our villa has the premier location in the luxury, gated Waikoloa Colony Villa complex. It is directly on the golf course with the entire view of swaying palms, lava features, distant volcanoes and the 10th tee of the Waikoloa Beach Course. It is close to the beach at A-Bay, gourmet restaurants and shopping. Several beautiful beaches are minutes away and many world-class golf courses are nearby and we are at a gateway to the many island attractions and adventures. The family pool and parking are steps from the back door. SPACIOUS COMFORT - The size and layout of this 1400 sq ft townhouse along with the casual, elegant island decor creates a special island home. The 2-story floor plan provides privacy, with no other units above or below. Downstairs the large great room has 19 foot ceilings, wood laminate floor and plantation shutters giving light and privacy. There is a comfortable sectional sofa and 42" flat-screen TV with DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen features granite counter tops, quality appliances and is set up ready for you to prepare a quick snack or gourmet meal. The open kitchen faces the dining area and lower lanai. There is a convenient ½ bath off of the elegant entry on the first floor. The layout of the second floor offers privacy with the 2 full bathrooms located between the bedrooms. The luxurious master suite has it?s own lanai, a flat screen TV, and a huge tiled bathroom with twin sinks, granite counter top and a separate soaking tub. The guest bedroom also has it?s own full bathroom, flat screen tv and an office space set up with desk and internet cable connections. The comfortable beds feature foam mattress toppers. The 2 lanais have lovely views and are the perfect spot for a tropical drink at sunset or a relaxing nap. There are 10 or more excellent beaches in 10-15 miles radius from the property. It is very quiet and clean there. Only small complain we had was that there were faulty toaster and we needed to have couple of iterations before land phone line started working, but it didn't affect the pleasure from staying there. The book "Big Island Revealed" which we found on the table, was very helpful in planning days. If we decide to come to the island again we'll certainly consider staying here. A Mixed Bag A guest from Richfield, WI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2012 The property layout, furnishing, decor and location were all lovely--no real complaints there. But the property management company seemed lackadaisical, to put it kindly. We first contacted their office to find a rental and were told there was nothing available. After doing our own legwork we found this property, which *was* available after all. What's that about? We live up the road in Waikoloa Village and rented this for my visiting in-laws who were celebrating birthdays. My mother-in-law owns her own professional cleaning service and to our amazement and dismay when we arrived, we discovered that the property management uses guests as their laundry service. They actually threaten to add fees if sheets and towels aren't laundered by the guests themselves before they leave. How tacky. And how dishonest not to disclose this to renters before they rent. But the laundry thing might be because their cleaning service is incompetent. There were sticky dishes, stains and detergent residue in the carpet, trash under the beds and dust in the corners. The guest bedroom door doesn't close (a problem at night when the wind opens and closes it loudly if any windows are open) and the pipes in the downstairs bathroom squeal like a smoke alarm from time to time because of over pressurization. I couldn't get the wireless router to work (very inadequate login instructions) so I ran home and grabbed my own. These to me seem like pretty cut and dried management issues. If we were ever to rent that property again, the only way would be by renting from the owners directly, minus any management company involvement. The next larger family visit is in July and we will be renting another larger condo somewhere for them. I can tell you now, we won't be dealing with KCV. We would recommend it to our friends. The master bedroom had a wonderfully comfortable bed. Just the thing the doctor ordered at the end of the day. The pool and the barbeque very only steps from the condo.The condo had beach towels, beach mats, snorkel gear and and a cooler for the beach. Just great, didn't have to buy a thing.Only down side was the cleaning was a little superficial, needed to vacuum a bit better and wash all the dishes (they weren't clean, had to do a load in the disch washer right off the bat).
