Sedona Getaway Information

Found off of 17 Highway, Sedona vacation home rentals are in Arizona, located in the northern area of the Grand Canyon State. Voted the most beautiful place in America by USA Weekend, Sedona is famous for being characteristic red rock country. Over a hundred movies and television shows have been filmed there, and once you see the canyons and buttes, you'll know why.

Recreation interest in Desert Canyon Country is focused on four streams that wind through this classic Upper Sonoran Desert landscape. The Verde River, Arizona's only designated Wild and Scenic River, meanders the entire length of the area and is large enough to navigate in kayaks, canoes and small rafts at high to moderate levels. West Clear Creek, Wet Beaver Creek and Fossil Creek emerge from deep, cottonwood lined canyons they have cut into the Mogollon Rim to continue across the desert and merge with the Verde.

Hiking and camping are favorite recreation activities in Desert Canyon Country. Even more so are splashing, swimming and fishing in the streams that emerge from those wilderness canyons. Whitewater boating is growing in popularity on the Verde River. And here, among deserts and oases, there is an entirely different group of wild animals to watch.
