Casa de la Valle Luna is a luxurious and charming private residence nestled at the foot of the sacred Sangre de Cristo Mountains, midway between the town of Taos and the Taos Ski Valley. Each wing features its own bedroom, one with a King bed and full bath, and the other with a Queen bed, full bath and sitting room. The combo media room/office has its own full bathroom and is furnished with a Queen sofa bed (with a TempurPedic mattress) and may be comfortably used as a third bedroom. This kitchen offers all the conveniences to prepare a fabulous meal. There is a Sonos music system and high-speed WiFi throughout the house and flat screen TVs in every bedroom. One of the unique features of Casa de la Valle Luna is the expansive and inviting landscaped patio with hot tub, outdoor wood-burning fireplace and built-in propane barbeque. We did not turn on a television the entire week of our stay. I was disappointed that a grumpy neighbor very rudely approached us for having an outdoor light on. You may want to update the instructions to renters to avoid this confrontation. And also tell her to call the property mgmt office and not the renter. Other than that it was a perfect vacation. We took many day trips and it was a great place to come home after long and strenuous hikes. Great house, Great Location Carl W. from Frisco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2013 This house is a wonderful find at the base of the mountains. It is halfway between the town of Taos and the ski slopes, which make it perfect for our family as we like to ski as well as spend some time in town with the shops, art galleries and restaurants. It has a wonderful view of the mountains out the back windows and from the great patio with hot tub. It is a nice sprawling layout with a cozy living area, so you can spend some time together, or get away to your own part of the house for a little quiet time. And the Sonos sound/music system in the house is a great addition for setting a great mood for family time or just relaxing by the fireplace and watching the snow come down. The only possible negative on this house is the somewhat rough and narrow dirt road you have to go on to get to it, but it is well worth the mud on the car to get to this wonderful retreat.
