Charming cottage overlooking the Canal de Bourgogne Position: The village of Tanlay with its château, shops, tennis courts, bar, restaurant and 9 hole golf course is about 15 minutes walk (or five minutes bike ride) along the canal. Canal side bistro for al fresco dining within a 5 minute walk. More extensive shopping, swimming pool and sports complex at Tonnerre six miles away. Commissey provides an excellent base for exploring Burgundy, famous for its vineyards and traditional cuisine and which offers a wealth of cultural and leisure activities long walks in the rolling countryside, bicycle rides along the canal, the market town of Avallon and Cathedral town of Vézelay along with the wine producing areas of Chablis and Beaune all within easy reach. Adjoining the owners house, this charming cottage separate enclosed courtyard, covered terrace, garden furniture and barbecue. A few paces away, across a quiet road and small stream, a lawn stretches along the canal bank with stone table and bench and beyond that is the river Armançon with places where it is possible both to swim and to fish. There are bicycles which guests are free to use at any time.

Off this is the comfortable sitting room with French windows to the courtyard, sofa, wood burning stove, CD player, DVD and table and chairs. Steep open-tread stairs lead to the landing with low beams, two bedrooms, a double and a twin, shower room with basin and wc. Separate wc and basin downstairs. Electric heating, if required, payable locally. One basket of logs included. Towel hire available locally. Bed linen included, beds made on arrival. No children under 8 yrs accepted.
