The living room carpet was NASTY, simply nasty. Apparently neither the realty company nor the owners care since this has been noted before. If i had read about it i would not have rented this unit. Some light bulbs were out, remote batteries were dead, refrigerator door shelf was broken, dishwasher did not get everything clean, no sponges to wash dishes with, outdoor shower was just plain dirty, VERY DIRTY. And a few other things but you get the point. (N C must not have a "truth in renting" law.) Yes, we could have called and complained, but they either already knew or should have known these things or just don't care and we did not want to take our beach time to get lewis realty or the owners to do what they should be doing anyway. The location is good....one row back from beach and close to the beach access path.

Ants and roaches inside home. Had to vacuum floor. Carpet was stained. Roaches in laundry room downstairs. Beds very uncomfortable, had to sleep on couch. No wifi. Tried calling about conditions no answer, not even an answering machine. Very unsatisfied. A waste of $900 Save your money and look for somewhere else to stay.

We were very surprised to hear about this incident. First and foremost, we have an automated answer service that answers during business hours if a live person cannot get to the phone (very rare), secondly we have a 24 hour 7 day a week emergency line of which forwards to an on call staff member. We asked this guest at check out what number he called since he said there was no answer. He could not tell us. If we do not know of a problem, we can't address it. If the tenant was not getting through to us by calling the wrong number or for whatever other reason, we would have appreciated it if he could have simply drove the short distance to our office which is open 6 days a week to voice his concerns, again so we could have addressed them.
We inspected the unit after he checked out with two different staff members on two different occasions. We did not see any roaches nor ants. All of our homes are sprayed quarterly at the very least.
We did find a stain on the carpet although it had previously been cleaned and spot treated. Stains do tend to reappear in berber type carpeting.
We have never gotten such a review on Vitamin Sea and it has been a favorite rental for families for several years with them coming each year. Please do not allow this one review to alter your decision.
