Vacation at the Waves A guest from Rockland, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 18 days in March, 2013 Upon arrival the property was not clean. Upon contacting the management company, they acted immediately and cleaners were brought in. I feel the properties should have a top to bottom cleaning, in corners, under beds, in closets, etc at least at beginning of season. I feel the linens are a disgrace, I wouldn't use most of them for cleaning my floors and we are expected to wash our faces with them. Exterior well maintained, staff around often, maintaining..painting,etc. Property Manager Response: Response from Waterfront Vacation Rentals Inc. This guest stayed with us for several weeks this winter moving from one Waves condo to this one on March 30th. When we phoned to make sure the changeover went well she mentioned that the oven and dryer vent area could have been cleaned better. Housekeeping was called to go back to do a touchup. All of our managed properties receive an annual deep cleaning, usually toward the end of the year in the slower months. Linens are changed with every departure cleaning and those found to be beyond their useful life removed. The unit was conveniently located to eateries and shopping areas. Easy access in and out of the community. The only disadvantage that I saw was that the parking spot numbers are at the front of the parking space, therefore, if someone is in your spot, you can't see the numbers. Also, the spots are not consecutively numbered. The twins beds in the second bedroom need some type of locking capability. Beds moved while sleeping if you moved. Other than that, saw no other concerns. Would definitely stay again. Sleeping accommodations in the master bedroom were great. The kitchen was small, the microwave did not work well (the turntable did not function properly), the pans were very old and some were rusty, the refrigerator did not want to stay closed so we had to keep checking it. However our condo was not as clean as I feel it should have been. There were dirty feet prints on the wall in the kitchen and the floor had not been mopped before our arrival because our socks had gotten really dirty within hours of being there. The linens were clean and smelled fresh but we only had three wash rags and three towels per bathroom. Which means for a family of 6 to stay there we had to do laundry everyday. I'm assuming that the water there must be very hard because the day before we left I did some of our personal laundry and the wash turned our whites yellow. I think that was the most upsetting part of the trip because they were all new things we had purchased and are now ruined and can't be worn again. Overall it was a nice stay and much better than being in a hotel(with 5 kids) but in all honesty now that I've been down there and know the location a little better I might try staying at another location next time just to try something new. There was an electrical outlet by the phone that didn't work. The cutlery could be improved i.e. bends when it comes in contact with ice cream for example and cleanliness is still an issue.There were updates in the drapes, bedspreads etc which were nice but the area rug in the livingroom could be cleaner and some of the chair cushions were ripped with the stuffing coming out.These are not big things but for the price and to avoid customer irritation, they are worth fixing.The screen door does need a spring. It slams every time you go through it because the spring was removed probably 2 years ago and has not been replaced. Stayed for 28 days in November, 2010 We arrived and were happy with the apartment but this soon changed once night came and the neighbours in the accomadation nearby came out. About three in the morning they argued nearly every night . The police were always there. We did not go on holiday for this. If we had another apartment in the complex it would have been fine. It is situated in the best place on the beach and would definetly stay again just not in this apartment. It was beautiful, well stocked and in a wonderful location. It is a short walk (about 2 blocks but it didn't seem far) to a clean, white sand, palm tree lined beach with warm blue water. The condo itself was stocked with everything we needed for the stay: sheets, towels, kitchen items and starter disposable items. They stayed up all night for three nights, until 6 am and then went to bed and slept all day (or left). They were never seen or heard during the day. Very loud, vocal,. My husband wanted to call the police at one point. We were very tired and frustrated. We would stay again but never at #19. Too close to the next door neighbours. Sorry. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2010 We really like this condo but there were a few items that need to be addressed.There were some dead branches on a palm tree that were overhanging the barbecue and garbage container by the pool which eventually one of the guests cut down and disposed.The front walk has quite a few broken tiles which need to be repaired in case there is an injury from tripping.A bulb over the bathroom sink was burnt out, there was no bulb over the stove and the lamps had 60 watt bulbs which we replaced. I realize these are not major but can be irritating.While we like the accommodations, there are some things that could be done to spruce it up a bit. In four years, there have been no changes on the interior and it is starting to look a little tired. The rental rates are expensive enough, that perhaps it would be timely to spend a little to update, spruce up on the inside. I think the twin beds need some new comforters and the carpets are quite soiled.Our first year there, the gardener came and pulled weeds and pruned trees and these things seem to be falling by the wayside.It is such a nice property and we so enjoy coming there but since you asked, I would have to say that it's time for a little TLC. There was also a proliferation of small ants in the kitchen which covered all of the food which we had left on the counter.
