Experience indoor/outdoor Florida living at its finest when you stay at Solitude, our lovely house complete with a 1,000-foot atrium enclosing a pool, Jacuzzi, fire pit, and patio furniture. Bordering a lake and close to the beach, Solitude has it all!
Solitude is a single-story house set back from the street amid lush gardens on all sides. Once you see the palms, the tropical plants, and the lake visited by herons, ducks, and plenty of fish, you?ll know you?ve arrived at a little piece of paradise in northeast Florida!
Everything is freshly painted and looks brand new at Solitude, but before you can enjoy the house, you?ll probably find yourself in the huge atrium-style lanai in the backyard. It?s just too tempting ? gorgeous all-weather furnishings arranged in conversation groups and sunbathing spots, the sparkling swimming pool, and the bubbly spa! The kids are way ahead of you ? they?re already changing into swimsuits straight from their suitcases! (Maybe they know something we?ve forgotten about the best way to start a perfect vacation!)
The lanai combines sun and shade for the perfect any-season, any-time-of-day retreat. If it?s winter, light the fire pit and enjoy the cool breezes that are so balmy compared to what the rest of the country is experiencing! If it?s any other season, put on your sandals and sunglasses, fix yourself a frosty drink, and bliss out!
Once you let the Jacuzzi coax all the stiffness out of those travel-weary muscles, you might want to venture into the house. But first you must choose: there are 3 sets of big French doors leading into the house from the lanai! Solitude really does blur the lines between inside and outdoors in the most delightful way.
Wander into the living room and let the huge sectional sofa beguile you with thoughts of a nap. It?s so pleasant to switch on the wall-mounted HDTV and float away while watching a game or your favorite movie. The cool tiled floors and soothing pastel-toned walls all enhance the feeling of relaxation and calm. You?re going to sleep well at Solitude, but we have to warn you ? it may not all be at night! But what?s a vacation for, if not random nap-taking?
Of course, the livelier members of your group might want to set up a board game or start playing cards, and fortunately the dining room is ideal for this purpose. You?ll love our vintage painted table and sideboard, distressed wooden chairs, soft lighting, and a giant shell-framed mirror. (Hey, no fair looking in the mirror to see who?s got the queen of spades!) Perfect for meals, the dining room table is also Laptop Central (you have WiFi at Solitude ? it?s free and it works out on the lanai, too!), a prime jigsaw puzzle spot, and just the place to lay out all the brochures about sightseeing in St. Augustine.
While the dining room is pleasantly retro looking, the kitchen is sleek and modern. Stainless-steel appliances, stone countertops, and cabinets filled with cookware, dishes, and utensils are a chef?s best friend. Create delicious meals, frosty blender drinks, and tempting little snacks. Or, if you prefer, grab those delivery menus and let someone else do the cooking!
The kitchen, dining room, and living room all open out to the lanai, but when it?s time for bed, you?ll find the 3 bedrooms wonderfully private and isolated from the action. Whether it?s a rambunctious toddler who won?t nap unless the atmosphere is calm or an overworked dad who really needs to decompress, everyone will sleep long and well at Solitude.
The master suite is simply wonderful, with a queen-sized tester bed, a private TV, and a private bathroom with a separate powder room and beautiful appointments. Long after you?ve gone home from Solitude, you?ll remember the striped walls in the master suite with fondness!
The second bedroom contains a queen-sized bed as well, while the third has 2 twins. These rooms share the second bathroom, which offers both a shower and tub option. We provide all linens and towels, as well as a washer/dryer for your use.

Fun stay A guest from Ecorse, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2013 The best part of this property was most definitely the pool and jacuzzi it was the highlight of the house as well as the location it was quiet yet convienient. The negatives were when we arrived the house had not been cleaned yet ... we were ready for our vacation but the house was not it took about three hours before the property was ready for us it was a busy time so we were understanding, also the house needs more televisions and digital cable in all bedrooms having kids with no tv in their bedroom at night meant they watched tv in the living room to sleep on the floor ... The master bedroom bed is lopsided.. made sleeping very uncomfortable. The screen around the pool has a few holes so the bugs were out.We enjoyed our stay although this property needs some TLC. Property Manager Response: Response from Vacation Rental Pros Hi Chris - I just received your feedback and wanted to personally thank you for taking the time to fill out our survey. I apologize for cleaning issues. This is not up to standards. I will contact my house keeper. You and your family are welcome back any time. |

Atlantic Oasis A guest from Spruce Grove, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in May, 2012 Originally booked a different Vacation Rental Pros property in St. Augustine. Arrived to bugs in the original house which left my ankles and legs covered in bites. I called the VRP emergency number and the representative was very helpful and moved us to the Atlantic Oasis that night. We requested to stay in the Atlantic Oasis for the remainder of our trip, this request was accommodated after waiting over 24 hours to hear back from a manager at VRP. Wasted the first two days of our trip dealing with this and waiting by the phone to hear back. The Atlantic Oasis house has been renovated nicely, comfortable beds and large kitchen. The pool and tiki bar area are the highlights of the property. Great location, 2 min walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend this property but would hesitate to rent with Vacation Rental Pros again. Property Manager Response: Response from Vacation Rental Pros Hi Emily - Thank you for taking the time to share this information with us. I apologize for the issues with the first property. I am glad you were happy with the 2nd property we upgraded you to at no extra charge. We appreciate the feedback, and we hope that you will consider renting from us again next time. I'd like to offer you a coupon good for 10% off your next stay. Just enter the coupon code rebook10 when you reserve your rental! Thank you again for your comments. |

We will be coming back! A guest from Athol, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2012 First let me say that I am a tough customer to please and I'm very critical in any review I write. With that said I was very pleased with our stay at Atlantic Oasis. The House was very clean when we got there. The house looked just like the pictures on the web. There are flat screens TV in every room but the living room had a traditional CRT 35" TV which to me seemed a bit cheap but I didn't go on vacation to watch TV! The bad points>I like firm beds and the bed in the master definitely had some soft spots>The house is set up to sleep 8 people but the dining table only seats 6. >Pool was smaller than I expected as it is in the shape of a "4". >Pool needed cleaning when we got there>It was a bit of a hike to the beach>No beach equipment (chairs, umbrella...)>Listed a Barbecue grill but the only one we found was a camping sized one not suited for cooking for 8 people>Water heater had a hard time keeping up with the 8 of us.******************The good points>Tiki bar was a pleasant surprise with its own TV and refrigerator >Heated Pool>WIFI and wired Internet (but I didn't let anyone get online!!)>Newer appliances>Beach was very nice and clean with soft sand>Close grocery stores and other shopping >Outdoor showerOverall I was pleased with this location and will probably be staying here again in the future. It worked out well for us as we were actually two families (8 total guests) staying here together. There is enough room so you doesn't feel like your bumping into each other. It was nice to spend the day at the Beach and then come home for the heated pool in the evening Property Manager Response: Response from Vacation Rental Pros Hi Clinton - Thank you for taking the time to share this information with us. Beautiful back yard! Lynn T. from Minonk, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2012 The back yard of this home made our vacation! It was a great place to relax, eat and play.
