too noisy and too bare A guest from San Francisco, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 This was my third vacation weekend in Twain Harte where each time I have rented a different cabin. This one was my least favorite by far. Like in the past, I knew to bring my own sheets and towels, but did not know to bring hand towels for the bathroom which I had to go out and buy. Also had to buy smaller juice glasses as there were none of that size available. In general it was not that comfortable of a house. There were no fans in any of the bedrooms which were hot and stuffy. Neither bed was comfortable and seemed old. We stayed in the bedroom with the king size bed which had only one reading light. The bed itself was too big for the otherwise bare room which made walking around it cumbersome. Last but not least, it was quite noisy due to the fact that the house was located on a corner surrounded by 3 different roads. The Pros and the Cons A guest from Los Altos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 Overall we really enjoyed staying at Cresta 8. It was clean, close to town and in a beautiful location. It had lots of extras, including a horseshoe pit and horseshoes (light weight), ping pong table, shuffleboard, lots of board games etc. Lots of windows provided great views of the trees. Problems we had when we got there were quickly fixed by the owner. On the downside, the lighting did not accommodate evening reading well and the cable TV had few channels and only one that had national and international news in English. If these two issues were addressed by the owner, we would certainly rent this cabin again!!!!!! My only reservation in saying the experience was absolutely perfect was that the shower in Cresta 8 was poor. It had a poorly maintained shower head which cause very low flow rate which made showering difficult. The house itself was wonderful and provided a wide variety of entertainment options. Cons: Unclean (the toilets were moldy), Broken (the shower head was dysfunctional, had to use the sink), the pressure for the shower made it impossible to shower properly. WE MADE THE BEST WITH WHAT WE WERE GIVEN. A guest from Stockton, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 THE CABIN IS IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION. THE OUTSIDE IS VERY ATTRACTIVE. WHAT DISAPPOINTED ME THE MOST WAS THE KITCHEN. ITS SUPPOSE TO BE EQUIPED WITH COOKING POTS AND PANS. IT IS NOT. IT LITERALLY HAS TWO FRYING PANS, ONE IS TINY, AND THE OTHER IS EXTRA-SMALL. NO COOKIE SHEETS, NO MEASURING CUPS,A GRIDDLE WOULD OF BEEN NICE. JUST REALLY LACKED EVERYDAY COOKING NEEDS. ALSO THE ANTS WERE TERRIBLE IN THE KITCHEN. EVEN THOUGH I MADE SURE NOT TO LEAVE ANY FOOD ON COUNTER THE ANTS STILL CAME OUT, AND THERE WAS NO ANT SPRAY. I CANT STAND ANTS ON THE COUNTER. IN THE BIG BEDROOM DOWNSTAIRS THE KING BED IS VERY DECIEVING, IT LOOKS COMFY BUT ONCE YOU LAY IN IT YOU CAVE TO THE MIDDLE. IT DIPS REAL BAD, NEED TO INVEST IN A KING BOX SPRING INSTEAD OF TWO TWIN BOX SPRINGS IT DOESNT SUPPORT THE MATRESS. The house kept cool even in the heat wave we had. Bedrooms are nice, beds are pretty comfortable. Kitchen had all the nessesary dishes, etc.Cons: The floor was dirty, I had to wash it. The pillows were awful (you can buy nice cheap once at Ross). The second floor was unuseable - super hot. The patio furniture was super dirty, we washed it and had our meals outside.
