Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 We rented the Mountain Music cabin during the Alabama v UT football weekend and had family from Alabama join us - 8 ppl in all. The cabin was great and met our every need. We were pleased that we could rent the cabin for only 2 nights even during a peak period for renting properties in the Smokies. Most properties we researched required a 3 night stay during this time. The cabin and ammenities were as advertised and seemed more secluded than we expected even though it is in a resort community with other homes and cabins. We loved sitting on the back deck in the rocking chairs and swing sipping our morning coffee. We felt we had the world to ourselves! The area the pool table is in is cramped and makes for some contortionist shots but we didn't care. We had a blast! Loved the hot tub too! We would definitely recommend American Mountain Rentals and this cabin (except for the weekend we want to rent it again)! Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 I have been coming to Brother's Cove for several years and love it there.Very friendly and helpful office staff and beautiful cabins.I did however have an issue this year with the cleanliness of the cabin.When my brother pulled down the comforter on his bed,there was a large stain on the sheets that went through to the sheet on the box was obvious that the sheets had not been changed and washed from the last was late in the evening so he just had to sleep on top of the comforter that night.When I notified the office the cleaning staff had left for the day so he had to go a second night with dirty was taken care of on the third night but should never have happened in the first place.I hope this is an isolated incident because I really enjoy staying here. Not worth the cost A guest from monroe, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2012 This is the third time we have stayed at Brother's Cove and we won't be back. We lost water twice, once for a full day. Management was rude and unsympathetic to the situation. I understand things happen, but twice in one vacation without any sympathy is unacceptable. Our floor was so dirty when we checked in we had to rewash it ourselves. My sons feet were literally black from crawling across the floor, which is disgusting. We love the location and the cabin itself was fantastic, but management and maintenance are awful. We will not be back. Also, having laundry facilities right there leaves more room in the suitcase for souvenirs. You can't beat sitting inthe hot tub gazing at the star filled sky overhead! Loved the master suites. The upstairs hallway was narrow going to the other bedrooms and the squirrels or whatever on the roof or in ceiling woke us up Sunday morning. Since we are in the mountains we have neighbors that sometimes get a little busy gathering acorns this time of year for winter. This year has been a boom year for acorns, alledgedly a sign of a heavier than normal winter. The squirrels have been working extra late shifts to keep up with the volume! It is merely a symptom of being blessed to live in a beautiful natural habitat in the foothills of the smokies, where we can share our lives around all manner of God's creatures in a pristine forest. Prices were easily compatible to the same amount of Hotel rooms that would have been needed and there were bathrooms and bedrooms for everyone privately. Lots of space, clean linens, comfy beds, pots/pans, lots of TV's, pool table, great hot tub. Negatives: heat wasn't very efficient, some rooms very cold and others really warm. Paperwork said there would be firewood for the fireplace, but there was none (would have been nice, it was very cold!). I just had a couple of things that I would like to address. They spiderwebs in the house. I can understand them outside, but inside need to be addressed. Also on the linen. Have you thought about having the linen cleanned and wrapped so that tenant would know the linen is fresh. The extra night stay, when someone isn't able to stay that extra night would it be nice to credit them that night for up to six months or a year. This would ensure a return visit. I was VERY disappointed when I used the jacuzzi tub in our room and saw how dirty the water was. I could not believe that the water was actually brown and left a very disgusting dirty film in the tub. I had my children in the tub giving them a bath and felt that they were probably not clean after being in there. I had to get in the tub and wash it out for the next use. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2008 Mountain Music looked clean upon entering, but we soon found out the property was dirty and had a rodent problem. In the kitchen there were mouse traps under the sink, mouse droppings in the drawers, and a disgusting smell coming from under the sink and from the dryer area when it was on. Cob webs were on the walls all over the cabin and spider webs in just about every corner--with spiders in them! Although we liked the cabin itself, we were displeased with the cleanliness of it. We are repeat customers with American Mountain Rentals and will rent from you again, we will not rent Mountain Music. We decided we'd like to try something different than our usual beach vacation. I'm so glad we did! The cabin was secluded from everywhere. It was very peaceful, the weather was perfect and it was just cool enough to have a fire most nights and early mornings. After talking to the family, (ages 8 thru 37) we've decided this will become a Spring Break tradition. We had such a great time, a lot of nice family time we don't always get at home!
