It was a little hard to find and very difficult to park the Suburban at ground level because of the limited backing space, the drop off, and the air conditioning unit being in the way. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2011 I did not know the area and I stated that I was going to be going to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. With that said, they gave me a cabin in Gatlinburg and it was too far. Also the roads were mountain roads. The house was big and nice. It was way too dark and it needed a cleaning. There was an ant problem in one room and a bathroom. That was the first cabin we stayed in for 3 nights. Then we went to this one in Pigeon forge that shared the entrance to Dollywood. Much better location, much better lighting and cleanliness. The problem was it was to sleep 10 and the sofa bed in which 2 kids were going to sleep was horrible. It was dirty, the matress was non-existent, and there was no sheet for it. The blanket for it was gross and well the kids just slept on top of the 2 couches. It was fine because it was for 1 night. A few small things that need to be done such as replacing the living room furniture especially the sofa because there's a sink in the middle, which is very uncomfortable and difficult getting off. The ironing board is broken preventing folding/storing. The internet connect is really poor. The wood benches on the porch needs some paint. The trash cans need to be secured better than placing a rock on the lid because we had an encounter with a raccoon. Our Super Fantastic Stay at the Cherokee Lodge Rita L. from Fulton, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2010 The policy clearly states that no loud parties and that was one of the reasons we booked the cabin. We were looking for a couple of days of peace and quiet with our kids and grandkids. But for two of the three nights we were there, another rental property managed by the same people located about 50 yards away was the scene of two all night, foul mouthed, loud drunken parties. They started at around 11:00 pm and went to 5:00 am. I couldn't call the police since my cell phone wouldn't work. Cars coming and going all hours of the night. The rental company took my complaint on day two but the party continued for the second night. They finally checked out so we did get one night of sleep. If your looking for peace and quiet, your pretty much on your own since the clause in the rental agreement isn't enforced. In short, I paid for three enjoyable nights and got one for my money so lesson learned and buyer beware. I had to replace them. There was no internet connection and just basic cable. The experience was so bad that we left one night early.Last time I rented a cabin in Townsend and my experience was really great there. We had a great week enjoying the area. Great mixture of things to do to suit anyone's tastes. Everything from quiet drives with great scenery to bungee jumping, whitewater rafting and indoor skydiving. Visit to Cades Cove and tubing on the river with entire family were highlights of the trip. Only a few problems. Weeds along steps needed to be cut and we had water leak in after a very heavy rain. Wireless Internet access was very poor. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a pack in play, one closet was so large we put a twin matress in it. There are plenty of bathrooms so every family had their own. It is a little noisy depending on which level of the house you are on.Because of the great location, it was very easy to get to all the attractions in the area.We had a couple of plumbing issues, but American Rentals did a good job attending to them. Also, a couple of the bathrooms/closets could have been a little cleaner, but other than that we had no complaints. We would definately recommend staying here. The only problems we had was that there were quite a few light bulbs burned out--only one was working on the deck when we arrived, and several were burned out inside the cabin. Also there were several fence staples in the drive--one punctured our tire immediately upon arrival and there was screwdriver in the driveway.
