Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 I think that the location is poorly marked along the roadway, making it very difficult to find the home. We had a bad roof leak, that soaked the wall, stairway lights and carpet. No one ever called us back or came to fix it. We had to be very careful where we walked due to soaking wet carpet and we couldn't use the stairway lights because there was water sitting in them. Although getting up to the cabin was quite a feat, but by the second day I was able to come up with a system of getting around those two really tight turns, which made it bearable. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2011 I was specifically looking for a great mountain view when I selected this cabin, and that is what we got. However, I was disappointed with the cabin itself. It was not clean. The kitchen and bathroom floors not mopped, collection of dust on every ledge, not vacuumed thoroughly. The dishwasher did not clean the dishes, one of the burners on the stove did not work, there was a leak over the stairs, and the pool table was falling apart. I would not stay at this cabin again. We were very pleased withthe location, space, set up and views from the deck. We would definitely come back and do it again. Having a kitchen with a fridge was great. We had breakfast and some lunches in the cabin, which was a good break from sitting in a restaurant all of the time. Overall, the place was clean. It could have used a good "spring cleaning" (dead bugs from the winter months). The drive up to the rental may be a bit challenging for some. The cabin was clean with plenty of bath towels and room for all of us. The only thing is a little warning before you go up. You literally go up. We had to pull up, back up, pull up and back into our driveway. Our vehicle was too long to make the short curves in the road. The same thing when you left to go anywhere. Once you were there, the cabin sat high on the mountain and you could see for miles. It was "Almost Heaven." We would reccommend this cabin. Just be prepared for the climb. The rocking chairs on one level were broken. The grill had 2 tanks of gas, both empty and the grill was dirty. The oven was so dirty the cabin filled up with smoke. The windows were so dirty we couldn't see out of them to see the mountains on the top floor. We ended up doing more cleaning than what we should have for the amount of money we paid to stay there. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2009 I loved the view from the cabin, but due to the difficulty in getting to the cabin, I would not stay there again. We had a CRV and still had trouble getting to the cabin. Had the roads been icy, there is no way we could have made it. We had to accelerate pretty hard to get up the last bit and then make tricky switchback turns. We started sliding a couple of times, heading towards the edge of the cliff. We had our 3 month old granddaughter with us. It was very scary. We could not have arrived there safely if we had arrived initially in the dark. I feel like we should have been warned of this when we reserved the cabin.The cabin was clean when we arrived and was nice,but soon we were infested with ladybugs. It would help to have a vacuum in the cabin. There were ladybugs everywhere and we couldn't escape stepping on them. I tried to sweep them with the broom but that didn't work. The ladybugs crawled on us at night....that was very uncomfortable. The view of the cabin was absolutely beautiful! The furnishings were fine. I would prefer two showers instead of 1 shower and 1 tub. We did have a good time because we were together as a family. I'm sorry for sounding negative about the cabin but due to the reasons I listed above, I would not stay there again. We always select a no smoking, no pet cabin because my family suffers from allergies. At first glance, the cabin was clean, but thick layers of dust and dust balls were clinging to the blinds and wooden walls. Location of the cabin was great as far as distance from town, but the drive to cabin was extremely steep and narrow. If guests had been staying in the two cabins below us it would have been almost impossible to get our Tahoes to our cabin. Two floors. the kitchen and living room are on the top floor. 3 bedrooms locate on the lower level. They are nice and comfortable. One room has its own balcony with a nice view.However, the cabin is located on the top of the hill. The road is very steep and sometimes you don't have enough space to make sharp turns if other cabin parked too many cars or you have a big van. Also, they give you the cabin address only after you get to the office. If you can, get the address before hand so that you can map its location. This comes handy if you arrive late evening. The other thing is you cannot see the sun rise or sun set in summer. You might be able to watch sun rise in winter or sun set in spring. However, the very steep, narrow driveways leading up to the cabin were extremely difficult to navigate. One of the bedrooms also had some windows without blinds, which was inconvenient. We will definitely rebook with AMR, but we will probably try to find a cabin with easier access. At the top of Parrot Mountain. A guest from Joelton, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2008 About 75% of the dishes that were pulled out of the cabinets were incredibly dirty. So, we had to wash all the dishes before using them. Also, there were dead lady bugs all over the cabin, such as in the corner of rooms and in the window seals. There was also cobwebs in the ceilings of every room. It didn't look like the cabin was vacuumed, or cleaned for that matter, very well :( . The hot tub was emptied and refilled before we got there, however, it took it two whole days to warm up. But, the view from this cabin was SPECTACULAR! It really is "Almost Heaven". The cabin was sometimes above the clouds, and you couldn't see anything below them. That was wonderful! The bed spreads were filthy. The cookeware had a sizeable amount of molded food in them. the pool table top was severely torn. The cable was difficult to use. no extra sheets or blankets provided for hideaway or fold out beds. coffee maker hidden in closet, toaster did not work. carpets had not been vacuumed. mirrors and windows nasty. two good things - view - and close to dollywood. neither the agency nor the property is recommended. I searched for days on the internet before I was able to find it again. It was just as we remembered if not better and our stay was fantastic. American Mountain Rentals who now has it was very polite and courtious and made our stay hassle free and at a very good rate. I would definately rate it 5 stars. Only complaint is the drive up. Two turns have to be carefully done like parrallel parking but well worth it when you reach the top. View was fantastic!
