A wonderful Family Christmas! James J. from St. Peters, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2012 This was our second Christmas in the Smokies. This was our first stay in Whispers, our previous being in Bear Hug II. We had an incredible time again, and will be going back. The cabin was very clean, spacious and beautiful. The amenities are so convenient and the atmosphere is so relaxing! We highly recommend Whispers to a large family. There's plenty of room to spread out and relax! The wrap around deck offers a breathtaking view. We were able to use the loft upstairs to open presents Christmas morning. Our 2 younger kids had the entire bottom level to enjoy, with games, giant TV, sleeper sofa, and there own bathroom. Our teenager loved her own room with walk out to the hot tub, TV, and gas fireplace of her own, not to mention her own bathroom. Upstairs in the Master room, my husband and I were dazzled by the views from our private, walkout bedroom that led to a second hot tub! Whispers is the perfect rental if you need lots of space on a tighter budget. We felt like we got great value for our money! You'll be in the lap of luxury in the Smokey Mts.! Definately an A+! A GREAT MOUNTAIN GETAWAY! Jon B. from North Charleston, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 I stayed for 3 nights in The Whispers (cabin 43) with my wife and our two friends. We are all in agreement that it was well worth the money. We are already talking about going back! The location is beautiful (especially in mid October), and the cabin itself is large & very nice. The only downsides I would say about the cabin is that the walls seem a little 'thin' in that you can hear people talking in other rooms pretty easily. They also put a little too much chlorine in the hot tub. All our bathing suits smelled like it for days. Also, traffic in Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg is horrible that time of year, but I don't think that's anything American Mountain Rentals can control.Small downsides and big upsides to an affordable, enjoyable mountain vacation! Stayed for 8 days in July, 2012 The cabin is very nice, but many cockroaches in the kitchen detracted from the experience a lot. The rug in the living room had not been vacuumed in some time by the look of it. We would have vacuumed, but the vacuum cleaner was full. We really like Brothers Cove, but these units should be sprayed regularly for insects. Last year my in-laws had a problem with roaches as well in the unit that they were staying in in Brothers Cove. The cabin itself is beautiful with plenty of space. The kitchen was adequately supplied with all the cooking utensils we needed which is great if you are like us and prefer to make most of our meals instead of eating out. Lots of windows, and plenty of deck space, two hot tubs etc.., The only problems we had were that the wood burning fireplace had no wood, (we were not make aware we would have to provide our own) and the gas fireplace didn?t work ( I presumed that it had already been shut off) , the TVs with the exception of the game room were rather small which isn?t a huge deal, but for the amount we paid nightly it would have been nice, and lastly by the picture we presumed that we were more secluded instead we had other cabins right next to us on both sides. Overall though we had a great time and enjoyed the cabin and its amenities. We would recommend it to others it was a beautiful place. P.S. some more chairs in the front porch area would have been nice. Property Manager Response: Response from American Mountain Rentals I am glad you had a wonderful time. We generally don't shut the fireplaces off until after Easter, once the weather stays consistently above 60-70 degrees. We have bundled firewood for sale at our office on site. Being on the top ridge where the best view of the Smokies affords you a terrific, but very popular vantage point. That is an excellent tip regarding more porch furniture, I will work with the home owner to make that suggestion become a reality. I look forward to seeing you all again soon! There was enough to keep everyone happy and busy. Loved the layout of the upstairs bedroom with open space for playing and downstairs game room. The negatives were spider webs, dust, dirty windows, and I woke up to a wasp in my room and no open windows or doors. I feel that with the fee and note on counter requesting tip for the cleaning services that the cabin should have been spotless so I was disappointed to see that it looked like the major things were taken care of and the minor was forgotten. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2010 We traded in our traditional "Christmas holiday" (and excessive gift giving) for a family vacation. I did this in hopes of making lasting memories. Our 3 children are now all adults, and with one friend each, we became a family of 8. Whispers slept 11, and with 2 hot tubs, and large gameroom there was ample room. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting in a hot tub on our back porch, overlooking the beautiful smokey mountains. We left Texas with 60 degree weather, and with very few occassions to sit in front of a warm crackling fire. After having grown up in Iowa and Kentucky, my husband and I had forgotten just how much fun the colder weather can be over Christmastime. We actually bought a hatchet and all took turns chopping wood that we found around our cabin, and kept a fire going most all the time we were there. Although we would go into Gatlinburg, and to the Dixie Stampede dinner and show, one favorite thing we all looked forward to was coming back to our new home. The drive up the mountain was even an adventure, as we have nothing but flat land where we live close to the coast. Our hikes down to the entrance of Brother's Cove challenged our athleticism, but something we loved to do in the mornings. Something we rarely get to do at home is to spend quality time together like we did here. It was an amazing time that we will never forget, and we are already talking about coming back again next year! The 'only' suggestion I would have for our cabin in particular, is to have more overhead lighting, b/c night time video taping resulted in dark video's. Our cabin was clean and well kept, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an extremely fun family, or any kind of vacation! Brothers Cove is gated and has management on site. We had a heavy rain storm for hours one night. Windows on the main floor living room leaked and the bottom floor windows (or wood) had a leak. There were wet spots in the middle of the room on the carpet downstairs. Maintenance man from Brothers Cove said the owners need to reseal the windows and some other areas. Other than taking towels and sopping up water, everything was great. I would highly recommend the chalets in Brothers Cove. It was broke and no one can sleep on it.Only a really small child would be able to sleep on the chair sofa. We did use the sleeper sofa in the loft and it was fine.Did not use the one in the living room. Would suggest that it not be advertised a having 3 sleeper sofa until the one down stairs is replaced. Labor Day Vacation A guest from Huntsville, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2010 The Cabin and my stay would have been wonderful if there were a few adjustments that could have been made. First, the kitchen was not equipped with enough pots and pans to feed a good size family. Second, a bed was broken so my husband and I were forced to sleep on the ground. Third, the hot tubs were filthy when we got there and we had to call somebody to come and clean them for us. However, the location was fantastic, the cabin overall was beautiful, and you couldn't find a better view!
