We were not able to enjoy the downstairs. Notified managers immediately after our check in but problem was not resolved after our two night stay. The property manager gave a refund of about 12.5% for 50% usage of the property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2012 It was unsettling to arrive at the cabin and find it setting on a girder system. We have been coming to the Smokies and renting cabins since 1996 and this is the 1st time we have experienced this. You could feel the cabin "bounce" every time someone would walk around. We couldn't get the heat set to a comfortable setting. It never seemed like it was ever warm enough downstairs but it was way too warm upstairs even with no heat turned on. We found it a little strange that there were no curtains or blinds on any of the windows downstairs and either cabin beside you could see everything that was going on inside after dark. There was NO sense of privacy at night. We found old doughnut pieces under the stools upstairs in plain view. It is well outside the hustle and bustle of the cities. We took a 6x10 Harley trailer with us and was able to park it, our car, and get our bike out without any difficulty. The location for us was perfect as we wanted away from city and had easy access to the Smokey Mountain Foothills Parkway and the Dragon's Tail. The cabin was more than we ever expected from its size to it's conveniences. We were very pleased with everything from the check-in to the check-out process. We would highly recommend this to everyone. We planning on renting it again in the fall. We've stayed at Brother's Cove at least 5 times over the years and love their cabins. The only criticism we have is that the past couple of times we've stayed, the cabins have not been as clean as we felt they should be. The ash tray on one of our decks even had cigarette butts in it. I believe we pay a cleaning fee so I'd like to see baseboards, pictures, etc. a lot cleaner.
