The three of us along with our little puppy just had a great time. The cabin was just fantastic. We could not have asked for anything more. Everything was so clean and nice. The only issue we had during the whole week was the power went off one night at 1 am. We could not determine how to turn the alarm system off to stop the "beeping" every 10 seconds. I would also have felt better had the main electrical panel been locked or inside the cabin for security reasons. The cabin rental company was contacted that night and was not as helpful as they could have been. This company needs to realize the people renting these cabins are vacationing and not familiar with the surroundings. We have visited the other great national parks in the west such as Yellowstone and Glacier and the Smokies are just as good. Trust me, pick this one! We stayed March 31- April 8. Stacey C. from Payne, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2012 Our family of four absolutely loved this cabin. Great location between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg off King Branch Road. This cabin was very clean, had new furnishings, a beautiful kitchen and great room. For a pet-friendly cabin, you wouldn't know it. The master was upstairs along with a new sofa sleeper for the kids right outside the door in the loft. It was perfect. This cabin sits back off the road with a long flat is private,and has a huge wrap around covered has a wooded view and it is quite a drive up the mountain to get to this cabin (takes 6-7 minutes off King Branch Road). This is not just a couples cabin. It is perfect for a family of four. The hot tub and pool table were an added bonus. We stayed 8 nights and everything worked perfectly...not one problem to report. That's impressive. You will not be disappointed...the owners of this cabin have certainly made it a home. We cannot wait to visit Hidden Romance again. We had two visits from the resident bear...we watched him for 25 minutes from the top balcony. He will flip your trash bin and take what he wants. :)PS. Take queen sheets for the sleeper sofa and laundry detergent. The location isn't great and once we arrived at the cabin we realized that there was no cell phone signal. But If your looking for a secluded cabin this is your spot. Our only true complaint was how the cabin was cleaned. We had fresh linens and things looked near but a few minutes of walking around and our socks were filthy so I swept and mopped the entire cabin and began to notice that there was dust and dirt all around the cabin also I noticed that there was even dust on the bottom of the toilet which made me feel as if the toilets had notBeen cleaned. The first 2 nights were very peaceful and quiet, but not on the 3rd night. A hugh group of young people moved into the cabin behind us and partied until 4:00 a.m. We could hear them even with the windows closed. Also, we weren't crazy about the road to the cabin, quite steep and slick from the rain. Our long weekend was meant for relaxation and we mostly achieved that. The ladies in the Pigeon Forge office were friendly, polite and helpful. We love the Smokey Mountains and would probably rent from you again although, I'm not happy about the cleaning fee, I didn't feel it was worth it considering the floor was dirty and the dishwasher still had the clean dishes in it. Dissatisfaction with American Mountain Rentals continues to grow A guest from Mt Morris, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 This is the 4th time we have booked through AMR and it will probably be our last. The cleanliness of the cabins continues to decline with each stay, and customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be a priority. The property was loaded with dead ants (including the bed which had to be stripped and washed), our socks were black from the floors and we had to wear our shoes all the time, the bathroom rugs were dirty and stained, the curtains, lights, & fans were covered with dust, the windows were so dirty you could hardly see out of them, several of the light bulbs were burnt out (inside and out) and the management didn't seem to care nor did they offer any kind of refund or compensation even though everybody is charged a cleaning fee. They claimed the cabin was cleaned the day before, but yet we had to sweep, change linens, and wash things down before we could even use the place. They did offer to send maintenance out but why should we have to spend our vacation waiting around for maintenance if the cabin was cleaned the day before? They also claim the cabins are deep cleaned every spring, but the dust we encountered and the grime on the windows was by far older than this past spring. With the rental charge, fees, and taxes, we paid almost 189.00 a night to stay here. For that kind of money I don't feel it is expecting too much to find a clean cabin on arrival. The bottom & sides of hot tub were slimey and when the jets were turned on there was a brown foam that floated to the surface. My family and I celebrated Thanksgiving here and all the amenities included were wonderful. We had most everything (besides food) that was needed to make it possible to serve our big meal. We really liked the furniture here, the kithen table and chairs that expanded was nice for our dinner, and the decor was very tasteful. I would like to thank the owners for having a phone for us to use since we did not have cell signal. We really appreciated the fact that it was pet friendly, our pup Jed, loved staying here as well. There were a few items that were broken or we could not figure our how to use- pool table (did not lock in place),DVD player in living room did not work, and it was a little cold in the lower level(not sure if the ducts were open), and the outside windows were a little cloudy-(not sure if it was tree sap that was on the windows). Please do not take these items as complaints because we loved everything- we would just like you to know. We would love to come back and will recommend this cabin to all of our friends. The positive is you all took care of us and moved us to another property that was much bigger than the one we rented. The location was not as desirable, but we appreciate the flexibility you provided us. The other location we moved to had a MAJOR wasp problem that required pest control to visit. We found up to 25 dead wasps inside the cabin after pest control visited. But all in all things worked out. The visit would have been a 5 but for the complications mentioned above. Called front office three times and someone finally came out the next night around 7:30 pm. We had a couple of light bulbs burned out, one got replaced, the other did not. We saw a dirty pair of panties in the bookcase by the kitchen the day we checked in, and our daughter found a tampon on the floor next to the couch upstairs. The floors could have been a little cleaner when we checked in. Overall, the cabin is very nice, and tastefully decorated. For a couples retreat or a small family get a way, the unit was very nice. Last year was our 5th Wedding Anniversary and we were very satisfied with the cabin last year. For our 6th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to go back since we had so much fun last year. The cabin is in good condition and is in a great location. However, my only complaint is on the quality of the cleaning job. First, there was cat hair on the decorative bed cover which I can overlook since I also have animals and sometimes that happens. Secondly, I could tell that the bath mats on the floor hadn't been cleaned from the previous stay. But here is the topping on the cake... There was dried semen on the loft couch! I didn't notice it until our last night there when I was talking on my phone and about to take a seat. Now... I know that in a cabin called "Hidden Romance" you can be sure that couples get busy while they are there; but please, I don't want to have the proof! When we checked out the next day, I let the desk clerk know about the semen stain. She said that they have a cleaning contractor that cleans the cabins and she would let them know and was very apologetic. It would have been nice if they would have given us some sort of discount though. All in all, we had a good time and the cabin was beautiful, but please double check the cleaning job while you are there. I would like to know if after my complaint the cleaning job got better? I had requested a pool table for my children, so it was known that I would need more than one bed. Finding out at 10:30 pm that there was no sheets or pillow cases was not a good thing to experience. The cabin was so clean and comfortable. The furniture was very nice, and the bed was VERY comfortable.(One of the most comfortable beds we ever slept in.) We especially appreciated the fact that the cabin was pet-friendly. We were able to take our dog with us.:) The cabin had everything that we needed: even a washer, dryer, iron and small ironing board. We loved it so much, and we hope to return there in the future. We highly recommend this wonderful place! (Although if planning a winter vacation,the drive could be scary, due to the curves, narrow roads, and the mountains.)We went in June, so we did alright on the roads. Oh, what a relaxing vacation... However, when we arrived, the inside of the toliets were not completely cleaned. Also, the pool table?air hockey table was in bad condition. The pool sticks needed new tips and the air hockey accessories were all broken. The table's latch was also broke, so the table wouldntlock into place and the table was uneven. The game table was the biggest reason we chose the cabin so we were very disapointed. I informed the property manager upon checkout, so hopefully the next guest wont have to deal with that problem. Lastely, there was an envelope from the cleaning crew that stated the place was cleaned and they hoped we enjoyed our stay. It said we could show our appreciation for the cleanliness by leaving a tip. HA! When you leave, you have to basically clean everything so why would I tip?? The cabin setting is made for a couple that is celebrating the largest day that express love all over the world. It was also our 10th Anniversary. It is a modern felt like home. Hidden Romance accommadated our needs for this special occasion. In the event that we should return as a couple only, Hidden Romance will be the cabin of our choice. I would like for American Mountain Rental to recognize one of their representatives by the name of Jean located at 110 Hillis Drive. I mean she is just beautiful and dedicating. I wanted to surprise my husband with a side by side massage to be given in our cabin on our anniversary. She went to the extreme in making all that possible. We washed a white sweater while we were there and the rusty water ruined the sweater. When I called in I was told to let the water run for a while since no one had been in the cabin for a few days. We turned on probably every faucet in the cabin and the water was very dark rust colored. I filled one of the tubs up and took a picture of it because we couldn't believe how dark it was. There were also about 5 light bulbs out in the cabin. We liked the cabin for the most part but the water was an issue. It can be hard to tell exactly what it will be like when you arrive and there are always those thoughts of "I wonder what it will look like in person.....will it be private and secluded enough, will it be clean, are they attempting to make it look better online than in person, etc...... Leave all those concerns behind if you are considering Hidden Romance for your cabin. This place met and exceeded all our expectations which is always a pleasant surprise when you are not sure exactly what you will be getting. Management was great when we had a question on how to get the fireplace working.......we received a call from the maintenance man withing 1 or 2 minutes that walked us through the secret to enjoying the fireplace. I would give this place 6 stars out of a possible 5. We had a great time and it was perfect for celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. The cabin was lovely but the kitchen was dirty. It also wasn't very functional (ie, no cutting board, no vegetable peeler, the steak knives weren't sharp enough to cut a steak, no oven mits, etc.). I wanted to cook a romantic dinner for us both and it was very frustrating. It just seemed like there was no thought process about equipping the kitchen with everyday items. Almost like the basics were missing and the rest of it was of poor quality. Further, the water was brown. Can you imagine washing the dishes, cooking, bathing or brushing your teeth with brown water? Bottled water is necessary.Again, a pretty chalet but very frustrating if you plan to utilize the kitchen extensively or aren't prepared for the brown water. Cool floorplan.CONS: Cabin needed a good cleaning!!Toilet bowls had not been cleaned in a long time!!! I found a toilet brush and tried to cleaned one of them, but I had not packed any toilet bowl cleaner!?!? so there was little I could do. Something red, spilled and frozen in the freezer. Gross! Storage drawer below oven was full of old crumbs and crud.Sat. TV - Had about 12 channels - half were home shopping channels and the other half religous. NO LOCALS, NO NEWS, NO WEATHER, NOTHING. I'm really not a tv nut, but, give me a break! This alone would have kept me from renting this cabin. Luckily, I had packed some DVD's so we had something to watch at night. It's a shame to have such a cool cabin and not keep it clean or provide TV!Website plainly states - 2 night minimum, but was told on the phone this is not correct. Buried in fine print is a 3 night minimum. We could only stay for 2 nights, so I had to pay an additional $35 cleaning fee. Which I did not mind at first, but then found the cabin dirty!!!
