The lighting and bathroom were Sunset Magazine-worthy. Stayed for 8 days in August, 2011 We've been renting at the sea ranch for over 20 years, and this was one of the very nicest homes we've ever rented!! The deck was fantastic, as was the hot tub. The home was clean, beautiful, comfortable, and a wonderful place to just "be." We did have a couple of thoughts: it would be great to have a dresser or a chest in the master bedroom, as there was no place to put duffel/suitcase or other luggage. a suitcase rack would have helped, but it's always nice on a long stay (ours was 8 days) to be able to put clothes into a chest of drawers. the closet was fabulous though!! the living room was great also, but for people who like to hang out on the floor (doing exercises or watching tv) the coffee table was too large to allow much room for that. of course, this is just how we felt, and i'm sure others have different perspectives. overall it was a wonderful, relaxing, gorgeous and comfortable home, and we feel lucky to have found it!! the location, close to walk on beach, shell beach and tide pool beach made it even more spectacular. thank you sea watch!! Stayed for 2 days in February, 2010 Sea Ranch is a community with design guidelines such that all homes must blend in the nature - i.e. have gray unpainted wood on the outside. However, on the inside, Sea Watch looked nothing else short of luxurious! The interiors were as if pulled out of Architectural Digest: very stylish, highly spacious, with utmost class.The hot tub was sized for about 6 adults and offered privacy, as well as a fantastic place to admire the thousands of stars - there is no light pollution at Sea Ranch.Minor quibbles:1. The Internet didn't work, not even if you hooked directly into the cable modem.2. How is one to operate the gas fireplace? Controls were not readily visible and we couldn't find a manual. Tip: there may be a thermostat for the fireplace on the wall by the door.3. The boiler can only fill the bathroom jacuzzi if you leave only hot water running (that water will quickly get colder and will end up being just warm enough). If you need to turn the hot water on or up, the hot water heater is on the deck by the door.4. Would be nice and very cheap for the property owners to leave trash bags.5. The ice dispenser in the fridge didn't work but I fixed it by pulling it out, adjusting a lever behind it, then pulling it back in.Overall, Sea Watch makes for a great stay, the check-in process was smooth, and check-out was as easy as leaving the welcome packet inside the house and locking the door. Relaxing getaway! Alicia D. from Berkeley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2009 The house has all the essentials for a lovely trip -- the hottub was wonderful and the enclosed deck provides great shelter from the wind. Pluses of this house include brand-new decor, furniture, appliances, and satellite TV. The couch was great for two people to recline. We were two adults and a toddler and the place was the perfect size for us. I think 4 adults might feel a little cramped in the living room, although technically there is enough seating for them and enough space with the outside deck to have privacy -- but it's not a huge house. The master bathroom and guest bathroom were both quite spacious and everything worked great. Our only (minor) complaints were that the kitchen and living room have a wall between them -- it's open around the sides so you can hear each other but people in the living room cannot see the people in the kitchen. This could be an advantage for some people but if you want to cook while socializing with people in the living room, it's worth noting. Also, while the kitchen had a good array of pots and pans it was a little light on small utensils like an array of spatulas, a proper whisk, etc. The gas bbq is great and very convenient. We didn't use the gas fireplace but the central heating system worked perfectly. We loved the spyglass and binoculars for watching the ocean. On the cleanliness front, we made our reservation very last minute so they probably did a rush cleanup before we checked in, that said I was a little bothered by tiny little dead flies around some of the windowsills and in one of the bathrooms. There were no bugs to speak of except one intrepid spider during our stay. Also the deck stairs were quite dirty. They didn't look dirty until you sat on them and came away with dirt/soot on your pants. We ended up scrubbing them down ourselves because our toddler was all over the steps all the time.
