Pueblo Encantado 227 in Santa Fe, NM, USA A guest from Alamo, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 27 days in November, 2012 Property was not clean upon arrival--dog droppings in the patio area; washer / dryer dirty; the bathrooms had not been sufficiently cleaned; freezer needed defrosting; carpets needed cleaning; brick flooring had been swept but needed washing; window blinds needed serious dusting; etc. There were 3 fire starters but none worked. A screen door was broken and the lock to the front door was difficult to key. One chair was broken and the upstairs beds were uncomfortable. The freezer routinely made loud noises when the compressor engaged. The Direct TV Services were cancelled on a weekend due to non-payment so we had no television service our last two days. The Direct TV service that was provided was minimal--only a few local stations and many advertising channels (Wen Hair, cooking utensils, coin collections, etc.).We have asked for at least a one-day's rental credit for the issues listed above and if we do not receive the credit we would rate the property management company (Kokopelli) two stars rather than four stars. Until this unit has been refurbished and professionally cleaned, we suggest you find another vacation rental. Ok property. Betty G. from Denver, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 30 days in September, 2012 the property should have been checked before my arrival. The dishwasher didn't work, the kitchen was ill equiped, I purchased fry pans, silverware' bowls, I hated the odds and ends dishes. Ryan was a pain, Rob and Caroel were excellent. The place needed some updateing, especilly tv's and cable, also one remote for livingroom and masterbedroom. Also it took 4 hours to cook a roast, the oven is on it's last leg. August 2012 A guest from Sterling, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 We knew that the property was somewhat "dated" due to previous reviews so were not surprised at this. However, I specifically rented a home rather than booked a hotel so that we did not have to eat out all the time but the kitchen facilities were lacking. There were no cleaning cloths, no surface cleaner, no dish soap, no towels to dry dishes. The previous problems with the dishwasher had not been fixed and the toaster oven did not work well. Additionally, the carpets and rug need to be cleaned throughout the home. Having said that, the location is perfect, landscape is beautiful, and there are two kivas and a pool. Pueblo Encantado 227 A guest from Heath, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2012 Love Pueblo Encantado. However, last year, we stayed for 25% less in the same casita. Unfortunately with the price increase there was not any improvements. For 2$200+ dollars a night, I would like to see complete (relatively new) silverware, dishes glasses etc. Also, tattered and torn towels are not what one would expect in such a lovely location. In the future we would hope that the property manager would speak to the owner to improve conditions when charging market rate. The appliances all need to be replaced. HOWEVER, the location is ideal. The pool is lovely.The neighbors superb and the setting is storybook. If you are paying top dollar, I would suggest renting another unit. If you get a discount rate as we did the previous year, I suggest bringing your own tableware, pans and towels. Hopefully things will improve in that area. Lastly, the casita seemed a lot cleaner than the previous years although I could do without seeing dead bugs in the bath upon our arrival. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2009 All was well except for a couple things - the air conditioning unit for the main part of the condo (except master bedroom) wasn;t working on our arrival. I left a message with the management company since it was the weekend - we never heard back and had to call them again three days later. they sent someone the next day (our next to last day. Fortunately the weather had cooled some. We also reported a wasp's nest right above the entryway - which they came to attend to later that day - it turns out there were two nests out front - they killed the wasps in the nest not in the front of the main door and left the other. 227 Pueblo Encantado Ken G. from Toronto, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2009 The property was in a fabulous location. Great views from the terrace both night and day. Only ten or fifteen minutes to the Plaza in Santa Fe. It is easy to get to Santa Fe from here and there is a lot of parking available in Santa Fe. The condo was roomy and my family of four enjoyed staying in this country retreat. Tesuque market and restaurant are a short drive if you want to stay nearby. Nice communal pool as well (a bit of a walk but you can even drive there if you want, as there is parking at the pool). Only negatives are a screen door that doesn't open properly and ought to be fixed and some broken tiles on the stairs outside. The oven looks to be circa 1970 but it works ok. It was too warm to use the fireplaces but they look to be in nice condition. The master has its own AC unit that works quite well. The rest of the place has a fairly weak AC system. It was a little warmer weather than usual when we visited (95ish) so this probably won't be a major issue most of the time. Despite these relatively minor issues (which could easily be remdied by the owner) I would recommend this place when visiting Santa Fe and the surrounding area.
