Bright, sophisticated two bedroom, three bath patio home just a few blocks from the historic Santa Fe Plaza. This recently built casita has travertine and talevara tile throughout. The fully-equipped kitchen has granite counters, stainless steel appliances and a nice breakfast bar. Enjoy more formal dining at the custom-built, Mexican tile dining table that seats six. Multiple French doors downstairs provide an open feel and enable easy access from the kitchen and living room with wet bar to the private, walled courtyard in the front of the property, or the flagstone patio in the back. Upstairs are two king suites each with a bath; the master has its own deck. Each bedroom has a flat-screen TV with built in DVD player, and there is an office nook between the two bedrooms. A third full bath downstairs will accomodate the extra guests using the sofa bed in the living room. This home is off a quiet lane north of the historic Plaza. Newly installed refrigerated air conditioning.

The bedrooms were very comfortable with great air conditioning. We especially enjoyed cooking in such a well equipped kitchen. Parking, especially a large SUV was a bit precarious but workable. Thanks to the owner who had furnished everything one needed for a great stay. We would request Susan's Hideaway for our future stays in great Santa Fe.

Susan's Hideaway was a great choice for us in Santa Fe. Perhaps the best equipped rental we've had - towels and bed coverings, kitchen small appliances, everything. Very comfortable - nice furnishings, good bed, lots of space; and very convenient to center of town - 5 blocks to Plaza, close to several good restaurants. We'd definitely return.

We LOVED the townhouse! The pictures on the website do not due it justice. The home is beautifully furnished. It's warm and cozy We were excited to find a traditional coffee pot and a Keurig in the kitchen. The location is perfect, we were able to walk to dinner each evening.

It felt like I was coming home. OMG! Friends who came with me said the same sentiments. We wanted to stay longer but holiday time was short. The welcome basket with goodies added a nice touch. The bathroom in the first level made it feel like there were three bedrooms instead of two. That was a bonus.Truly impressive.

Great place to stay for a few days or a month. Liked all the furnishings and the fact it was stocked with everything you need. Close to downtown Santa Fe. Lighting is a little dim in some rooms. AC works great. The driveway is narrow and turnaround is a bit of a problem if next door house is occupied.

Condo was close to perfect, but getting to it was truly difficult.The driveway to reach the condo was long, narrow, not lighted at night and I spent 5 minutes each time I wanted to turn the van around to get out of the driveway. It would be almost impossible to back out.Aarning should be puton the listing -- a small car wouLd be best.

This property was everything that was told to us and more. Only two minutes to the Plaza by auto, only if you are in a hurry. All the furnishings were top of the line and verrrry comfortable. Many channels to choose from for the men out there. It feels like our second home. We will be back!

We really enjoyed Susan's Hideway for the week we were there! It was very comfortable and clean, but in one room there were little bugs that kept coming around. That was our only complaint except for the tight area of the driveway. It was nice to arrive and have the most useful amenities there already for us to use (soap, lotion, laundry soap, dishwasher soap, GLAD storage bags, and such). It was also a great location to the Santa Fe Ski Mountain as well to the main highways to get to Taos Ski Mountain which we did both!

A Beautiful Property with Some Quirks

Susan's Hideaway is a comfortable, tastefully decorated, well-appointed, and conveniently-located home, but it does have its drawbacks. It is a private rear unit in a condo complex, located down a long driveway. The designated off-street parking is tight, and suitable only for a small car. The street itself is a narrow cul-de-sac with limited parking.When I arrived, there was a car blocking the driveway. I rang the doorbell of the front unit, asked politely if it was theirs, and if they would move it. The owner of the front unit was most disagreeable, claiming that both the driveway and the parking space next to his entrance belonged to him, and that he is "in an easement dispute" with the owner of Susan's Hideaway. When I showed him my rental documents, he persisted with his claim, but agreed to move his car so that we could at least wheel our luggage through. He nevertheless made it clear he did not want us use the driveway. At the end of our conversation, he shifted his argument to a self-serving opinion that the back unit's spaces were not real parking spaces, and that it was almost impossible to turn a car around there (untrue). As it happened, it snowed during the week we were there, making a tight and tense situation worse, so I ended up parking on the street.The last night of our stay, the temperature dropped to 4 degrees F, and although the house remained cozy and warm, we awoke to find that some pipes were apparently frozen. There was no water at all in one of the showers, nor hot water in the kitchen sink. The place has three bathrooms, so it was a minor inconvenience on our last morning. The agent's answering service was responsive, but I had to tell him that I could not be there to receive the plumber, as our check-out was 10AM.It was quite a memorable holiday.

Before I signed the lease I made it quite clear I didn't want a property where animals had stayed. The moment I opened the front door it was apparent a dog had been in the downstairs area. Also, I was told there were fans in the rooms, but there were none in the living room or kitchen. With temperatures in the 90's it wasn't pleasant.

Comments are inaccurate - this house is stunning and we have a staff member who checks all houses before a guest arrives. This was the case. This property is a no pet property and there was never a pet here.
The house does have ceiling fans in the upstairs bedrooms, but the property was not represented to have fans downstairs and the pictures do not show fans.
