Rarely offered to help guests at the bar, and never offered to help guests around the pool. We always had to ask to be served even when we were the only people there, and it was if we were rudely interrupting her when we asked for help. She was constantly complaining about something in her personal life or another guest. One of her biggest complaints was that she felt as if the guests treated her like a servant. While nobody treated her like a servant, I believe she does not understand that we save our money for a long time to go on this vacation and we do expect service with a smile. It is not a class issue - it is a service issue, and point of fact she is a server. Many guests had similar complaints and she seems to be a very bad problem in an otherwise outstanding resort. Visit Belize if you have no health issues and you do not mind extremely large, I am talking truely revolting, quantities of petr Rachel L. from Bozeman, MT does not recommend this property. Stayed for 11 days in March, 2011 Be sure to do lots of research about Belize before you choose to visit. I did not do enough research, I trusted the person I rented the condo from, and was unable to partake in almost all of the activities in Belize. It is a 3rd world country. If you have a place you already love to visit, go there. The staff at White Sands Cove Resort, why it is named that I don't know, there is no cove, is very friendly and helpful, they are not to blame at all. Be prepared to not, I repeat, not have very good snorkeling at the resort. I was told there was good snorkeling in Belize, but was unable to do so because I was not told how physically painful it would be for me to go anywhere from our resort due to the methods of travel. I recently had neck surgery, I did tell this to the woman I booked our condo from, and was told I would have 'no problem' This was untrue. I was also told we could get to the reef at the resort,using a sea kayak,which was only 1/4 of a mile away. This too was not true, it was at least 3/4 of a mile in choppy water with very fast boats crossing to and fro in front of me as well as behind me. Needless to say, for a couple of reasons, we left sunny Belize 4 days early, cost a pretty penny to do so, and returned to frigid Montana early. If anyone knows me, I do not leave sunny and warm tropical areas for any reason, even a funeral. Yes, there was a funeral we attended, but if I had been in love with Belize, and been given a much more truthful description of the area, I probably would have decided to stay. I was given the option of 4 nights credit or 2 nights refund, I took the refund. I am extremely disappointed with my trip, I would have been happier spending $6000 elsewhere. I was completely disgusted with the amount of garbage, about 8 to 10 feet from the shore, which you could not swim from anyway, although I was told I could. I could jump into the water at the end of the dock, but that was pretty gross as well. Great Stay! Mike M. from Coppell, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2011 We very much enjoyed our stay at the White Sand Cove. The condo was very clean and well kept. The staff, Marlon and Doris, was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and booking excursions. The location was a couple miles north of town, so if you want to be in the middle of the action, it might not be the place for you, but town was very accessible by golf cart and the location allowed for more relaxation than the business of San Pedro. There even some very nice restaurants within an easy walk. They no longer have a dive shop on site, which they still advertise, but the Scuba School Belize outfit they use was very friendly and picked us up at the dock, so it worked out well for that. The room was clean, nicely decorated with a terrific view of the sunrise. The grounds & condo were extremely well kept and tidy. The property manager was pleasant, friendly and accomodating. All arrangements and recommendations were excellent - no issues whatsoever. The place was a short bike ride to excellent breakfast and dinner places. Free bikes & kayaks as well as a limited selection of snorkeling gear helped defray costs. Recommend highly. This was our third trip to the island & second time to stay at WSC. We stayed in a beachfront condo both trips here & had a wonderful time. The complex grounds are immaculate & the condo unit was spotless! Marlon, the resident manager is the best. Whether you need dinner reservations or recommendations or a dive trip to the Blue Hole, he can make it happen. He even arranged a side trip to Tikal, Guatemala for us before we arrived at WSC and it went off without a hitch! We looked at many places before deciding on WSC & after 2 trips here we would not stay anywhere else. Looking forward to a return trip soon!!
