Stayed for 3 days in March, 2012 The view was much better than we expected as was the general look of the house. We all slept quite comfortably. Even the bunk beds were reported as nice to sleep on. The beach was an amazingly short walk away. Just a couple of houses! We would have liked more table seating as we did have 16 people there. It was very very clean. Thank you. It could sleep 18 but there was only room for a dozen real good friends in the family room area. The TV was located in one of the bed rooms which made it interesting to watch the Rose Bowl. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2009 We've been using Sunset Vacation Rentals for many years to book accomodations for our university leadership retreat. The students and staff always enjoy the hospitality and condition of the homes. The Great Escape has a great beach location and almost all appliances in the home were in working condition. We did have a problem with the gas bbq lighting but the maintainence person came out right away and helped me light it. I would recommend putting a new door knob on the front door as the current one is difficult to use due to rust and give a good cleaning to the BBQ. Thanks! Stayed for 3 days in August, 2009 Great rental staff - very helpful.The house is close to the beach and in good shape for a beach house. We had a great time. The only complaints were need more seating in the upstairs. New couches would be great.The fees on top of the rates were pretty steep and for the cost of the cleaning fee they asked you do do a lot of cleaning.With a large group, it is very hard to do all the laundary, and dishes and get everything dry and put away while you are trying to pack your cars and be out by 11am. This kind of ruins your last day in the house. For the amount that is charged you should be able to leave the sheets and towels in a pile by the washer and clean dishes in the dishwasher. We found we were sitting around waiting for all the loads to be done. So if you stay here....start the wash the day before you leave. :o) Property Manager Response: Response from Sunset Vacation Rentals We appreciate your review.
