Deck and fire-pit were great (and we had the weather to use both). Very cozy overall, and a very well stocked kitchen (perfect pots and pans for a large seafood dinner!). Bathroom, and especially the shower is small as noted by other guests, but was adequate for us. Wi-fi key/password would not work, but we plugged in to access internet when needed. We could not locate the charcoal bbq listed in the property amenities. This was the only real issue, but not big enough to bother with--same goes for wi-fi problems. Great location. We ate crabs, went to the brewery in Pacific City, and whale watching. The only thing I would really suggest is that they need a new oven!! I brought some stuff to bake (we were planning on eating most of our meals in) and the oven takes forever to preheat and the temperature settings are not accurate. It appears to be from 1965... Our stay at Knot very lodge in Rockaway Beach Or. Mindy M. from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 We really enjoyed staying at Knot very Lodge! It was right on the beach with floor to ceiling windows looking out to the ocean. There is also a fire pit right off the back porch which was really nice! We roasted marshmallows and made s'mores. There is lots of beach toys,boogie boards, two bikes and many more things there to use during your stay. Also lots of outdoor seating and a very large picnic table on the back deck looking out to the ocean. One thing that would be nice is a lock on the bathroom door but other then that we wouldn't change a thing! We had a wonderful and memorable stay and we plan to stay there again and again and we have stayed at many beach houses in Rockaway. This one is not brand new and sterile like some of the other ones we have stayed in but it was nice and homey and had everything we needed! I would recommend this beach house to anyone!?? We had problems with the internet and no one answered the phone even though it was supposedly still open and they never called me back. I had to call them the next day before it was resolved. Didn't realize the one bedroom would be cold and not real comfortable bed. Cozy with a fire in the living room. The shower didn't work like a normal shower and it took a while to figure out hot and cold and it was either burning hot or very cold and hard to get it in the middle. Nothing fancy but a nice stay. Full of kitchen stuff. Odd issues with the drains but I suspect it has something to do with sewer services in the area. Don't count on the internet. Could not stay connected for more than 2 minutes on any device we tried to connect. We did not need it much with good cell phone reception but if you pplan or need to count on internet you may be dissappointed. Love this place and can't wait to stay again. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2013 We usually stay in Manzanita, but this funky beach house in Rockaway Beach is so close to the ocean that most of the view through the west windows is waves. I enjoyed listening to those waves through the evening as I read a book sitting on the various comfortable but not fussy chairs and sofa. In the early evening, we had a fire in the area set up for that just off the deck. Right above the ocean. Wonderful!We picked up some smoked fish at Karla's to have appetizers for dinner, so didn't use the kitchen much, but it appears adequate.The master bed is quite comfortable. The only issue was the shower control, which wobbles and doesn't work well. (I reported it to the rental agent.) I am grateful to the owners of this house for allowing us to rent it. There's alot of duct tape repairs. No curtains in the bedrooms. The main bedroom had a blanket on the window and the small bedroom had no window covering. The garabage cans were left with no protection. So the animals got into it Wed night. I found hair on the bedspread in the small bedroom. In general the place was clean, but as I said before there were alot of duct tape repairs. Instead for fixing the repairs correctly. The view is incredible! And 7 miles of beach right in front of the house. There's a beautiful fire pit area with adirondack chairs in front and would have loved to be out there but we picked a rainy week. Still, relaxing by the fire and knitting was sure a great way to spend the week. Everything was clean, the beds comfortable, kitchen well appointed, plenty of everything we needed. Great location and closer to the beach than I could tell from the photos. Turns out there is about 10 feet of sand/grass to the rock steps right to the beach. The cabin is well stocked with everything you would need in the kitchen, including most any spice/seasoning you might need. The carpet and furniture are somewhat worn but servicable. The oven is a very cool retro unit probably from the fifties. For the price this was a great place to stay. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2011 Well, they did forget to clean the place which seemed a little odd as the day before we checked in was the only day in July the house wasn't booked. But mgmt got someone out within 20 minutes and they did a quick cleaning. But don't let that deter you. For the fantastic location and views from this house, the price is one of the best values I've seen anywhere on the Oregon Coast. Literally 20 feet off the back deck and you are on the beach. The view from the back deck and inside the house is fantastic. I could sit on the back deck and be a little more than a stone's throw from where my boys were playing in the sand. I like Rockaway because it is quiet, but close to so many other locations (Long Beach, Astoria, Seaside, etc). I would bet I'll be renting this again next summer. This last time we went to the house they were so graciously kind to let us come in early.. we really appreciated it but much to our surprise once the bedding was drawn back there was sand between the sheets. I did report the finding and we washed the bedding. the bed in the master needs a new mattres and the phone did not work but we did not need a phone. very happy with the house we w DJ H. from Havre, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2009 the little extras are what made us feel so welcome. this is the first time we have ever rented a vacation home and did not expect the extras. the note on the fridge from the homeowner made us feel welcome right away and the kids enjoyed playing with the sand toys and body boards. hopefully this will get to the home owner because we would like to say Thank You it was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and enjoy a family vacation.
