As previous people mentioned, almost everything is antique-old there and has a slight smell that can be fixed by opening windows, however, everything is functional and the house a certain charm to it. I found plenty of kitchen appliances - coffee maker, new toaster oven, toaster, hand mixer, even deep fryer, though had to improvise with pans. I understand people ruin nonstick pans fast, so it's probably hard to keep up with getting new ones. I found some spices, flour, sugar, probably leftover from the previous vacationers. This place even had a grill on the porch, which I was very excited to see! The listing and agent said - no grill. My husband and his friend fell in love with the very comfortable couch and were wondering where they could get the same one for themselves :) House is generally clean, but things like fans and doors, windows could use an occasional wipe down.The highlights for me where the great view of the ocean from the big windows in the front room and the master bedroom, the grill, washer/dryer; all-in-all it?s a cute comfortable house. Location is great, a few steps from the beach, on the outskirts of the town which meant, cleaner sand, less people; not so close, but still within walk-able distance to downtown and the tiny grocery store. The main TV is upgraded to a flat screen, has basic channels; it would have been very nice to have internet.One thing to note next time, bring your own food! Restaurants in town were overpriced and not-so great/old food, many places close at 5pm so have dinner early, other places opened and closed randomly... The only grocery store is very minimal and overpriced; if you are planning to have a bonfire on the beach, get wood on the way to town since grocery store sells it for $7/bundle. The fun thing to do in town is take the sightseeing train ride to Garibaldi. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 Cute little house and very clean but the 1972 Sylvania 17" tv needs to be replaced. Also needs some form of blinds on front windows. It's like being in a fishbowl, even when the bamboo shades are lowered. Why, when you pay a $65.00 cleaning fee do the tenants have to do the dishes and laundry. Could use some deck chairs, also. Nice people to deal with, but would not rent again. For the price, a hotel offers much more. Thasnk you. Said she was looking for her uncle's guitar. They were staying directly next door in the adjacent house. I found this uninvited access into a rented property to be totally inappropriate. Owner's or their families should be required to knock (waiting until renters are in the house) and request entry like any other visitor whenever the property is occupied. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2009 the house was great, except for the lousy living room furniture. the couch had a twin mattress for the seat, covered with old fabric to make it look like a real couch. there was no place where we felt comfortable enough to sit down on the furniture. the couch and surrounding chairs are old and dirty, and should be trashed. they look like they were picked up from a free pile, and then covered with matching fabric.otherwise, the house is lovely. the washer and dryer are wonderful, the bedrooms and bathrooms clean, and the location is unbeatable - so close to the beach, jetty fishery, tillamook. we want to go back, but only if the living room furniture gets swapped out. Later I found wet towels in the dryer, and a set of sheets and the bathroom rugs together in the washer, wet. It took quite a bit of time to get them all dry. Also, I don't feel that guests should have to wash their bedding and towels, that should be part of the what we're paying per night. On a more positive note, we had an absolutely wonderful stay on the Oregon coast. We would love to come back again to this property.Thank you for asking about our stay.
