Condo is furnished with beautiful furniture and high quality linens and super comfy bed and feather pillows. All of Princeville is about 10 min drive to swimming beach. My only complaint would be that there is no hot tub at the pool. Very nice and very accommodating rental agency and the cleaners even put orchids on our pillows and around the condo for our arrival. Perfect quiet getaway with amazing clear views of the water! A guest from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2012 My sister and I stayed here for a week and it was perfect! Management were very professtional and prompt. We had blown a fuse on accident and could not find the fuse box for the life of us so we emailed mgmt. I couldn't believe how quickly they got back to us... it was after 7pm but they got back to us in a matter of hours. Great customer service!The only mini quam I had would be the beach furniture. The umbrella would not stay in the sand bc it was so cheap. Both the chairs and the umbrellas were rusted and were not comfortable. We ended up ditching the chairs and just laying on the sand on our towels and I just held the umbrella when I wanted to be shielded from the sun. The boogie board had mold on it and probably needs to be thrown out. I did not try the snorkel gear but it looked brand new and nice!Again, these are super small issues. The place was very clean! LOVED all of the fresh flowers everywhere in the bathrooms and on the bed! Very nice welcoming touch! The pool was great as were the ladies at the office. They were very friendly and helped us book a luau! Princeville is a very relaxed quiet part of town so it was perfect for what we were looking for for our vacation. we wanted to be away from nightlife and all of the daily hustle and bustle--- we got just that. View is fantastic and the bedrooms/living room all face the ocean. Wake to the sound of the water, with beautiful sunrises off the lanai. Condo complex is getting a bit older, and though the furnishings were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms could use a good cleaning. Would guess original tile and fixtures from the 80s? My husband is a seasoned traveler and he felt the condo was overpriced for condition; I was fine with most aspects (really missed an automatic ice maker - I didn't realize how much ice we used until last week). I would recommend based on location but would most likely go with something a bit cheaper for the complex. However, we were not happy with the fact that the old refrigerator in this unit was as times louder than the ocean! Really needs to be changed. The bed in the master bedroom is caves in the middle somewhat so we used the smaller bed in the second room. The shower curtain in the guest bath (and windows) have mold and grime on them so I did not feel comfortable taking a soak in that tub. (ugh!!!). It was a wonderful experience and one we are already planning on repeating.This was our first condo vacation rental and the process was so simple thanks to Sandy at Ahh! Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals. She helped me through the steps necessary to finalize the rental and resolved any concerns I had about trying what to me seemed like a huge unknown leap of faith! I would not hesitate to do it again.My husband and I can only rave about the condo - the amazing views, the amenities provided, the bed in the main bedroom was SO comfortable and you could hear the ocean waves and wake up to the ocean view!The only problem we had was the internet connection which we were sure was our laptop software and resigned to doing without. But David and his management team went beyong our expectations and would not give up until the problem was resolved and we could access our e-mail. We highly recommend both this condo and the management team that makes all the arrangements. Great View of the North Shore in Princeville Kauai Harold C. from Houston, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 16 days in November, 2011 The two bedroom condo # 5203 at Ali'i Kai was very clean and had a great view of the Pacific Ocean on the North Shore in Princeville Kauai. The only two problems we had the entire trip was that the washing machine didn't work when we arrived. A phone call later was answered by a couple that made quick work of fixing the small problem. Also a very common mistake is not getting the top floor of the building you are renting. We stayed 16 nights with someone in the unit above us for 9 of those nights. We got to enjoy every step they made, every chair movement, cabinet doors being shut and any other noise very clearly. That being said we were extremely pleased with the place. A very private area with little to no outside noise or people walking around the building. In 17 days we say only 11 people between our lanai and the grass in front of the cliff's / ocean in front of our condo. In June we were ocean front at The Cliff's which is right next door to Ali'i Kai and we saw almost that many people out front at any given time of the day when it was nice weather. Not a problem by any means we just really enjoyed the privacy we had at the Ali'i Kai. I met a 69 year old gentleman from San Diego walking near the Queen's Bath and the next morning I showed him and several of his party the turtle cave located directly below our condo. If you are in good physical condition be sure to hike down the short yet tough trail to the turtle cave, bring a flashlight and check out the sleeping turtles at the east end of the 75 yard cave. Once we got there we were kicking ourselves for not staying longer! This condo had everything we needed - beach towels, chairs, snorkel equipment, etc...After traveling to 2 other islands and ending up here, my husband literally said "this feels like home".The location is overlooking the cliffs and we felt sorry for all the other people renting condos in the area because they didn't have our views! Minutes from Queens Bath and great driving distance from everything. Just 45 minutes away from the airport and away from all the touristy hub-bub. We definately want to return to Kauai and will definitely try to get Alii Kai #5203 again.Only thing I would change is the freezer could stand to have an icemaker and the dryer squeaked pretty badly. We left a message for a "David" (I think) to try and arrange a late checkout (we didn't have the housekeeper's number) and never got a call back but other than that a great experience! We came back because of the accomodations. Again, the condo we rented this time was comfortable, clean and had a fantastic view of the ocean. It also had wonderful amenities. This unit was advertised on your web page as newly remodeled, but it wasn't. It said that the kitchen and bathrooms were re-tiled, leading us to think that the bathrooms were in nice shape, but they weren't. Only the floor was re-tiled in the bathrooms and kitchen. The screen door to the lanai was broken. The 'silk' (artificial) plants were extremely dusty, the dressers and closet smelled very musty. The DVD player didn't work, and we called the manager who didn't replace it for 2 days, so we missed our evening entertainment (movies) two nights in a row. The ceiling fans were dusty. There was a table fan in the closet, but it was gross - too dirty to use. The view was lovely, but it certainly wasn't worth the price. There are other units in the same complex with the same view that are the same price that are newly redecorated and **** and span. The advertising for this unit was misleading. I will definitely not rent it again, and will tell my friends to stay away. We do want to come back to Alii Kai but will find a different unit.A partial refund or credit toward another visit would be greatly appreciated.
