We wished the pool had a hot tub. This unit older and could use some updated blinds on the windows. The existing blinds don't work very well. Adding a couple of end tables and lamps for the couch area would be nice. We watched a couple of movies at night and it would have been nice to have a new TV, although we didn't go to Hawaii to watch TV :-) Overall we were very satisified with the location,price and amenities. Review of 4104 A guest from Vancouver, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 16 days in January, 2012 This condo could have enormous potential. However the windows need to be washed, inside and out, and since it is a ground floor unit the condo needs drapes for privacy. The furniture in the living room needs to be replaced right away. The second bathroom shower needs to be repaired as well. The kitchen could use a new supply of glasses. Upgrading to flat screen tvs, wifi and a long distance phone plan would be helpful. Great vacation rental A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in September, 2011 To me, there is no better place to vacation than the north shore of Kauai. Alii Kai 4104 is in an excellent location both because it is close to shopping, etc., and also because it sits at the edge of a bluff. It is spacious and well furnished and the kitchen is well stocked so you can take full advantage of Kauai's farmers markets. Unfortunately because it's on the first floor the amazing view from the lanai is partially blocked by trees, but you still get the wonderful constant ocean breeze and ocean sounds. My ONLY issues with the condo relate to the lanai (which is small and in need of repair, and should have more comfortable furniture), and the bathrooms (the showers in both are in need of repair). The repair issues are minor, though, and I would stay there again and recommend the condo to others. Windows appeared to have never been washed with lots of dead bugs in sills. Finding lights a complete joke! Do not check in at night as you cannot see the numerals on the lock system to enter entry code. It was pouring down rain and dark when we arrived....got soaked and contacted the resident property manager who took care of us. Your pricing is way out of line! booked next year already at a savings of $900. Was told gas grills were avaiable and were not.Disappointing to say the least.Final comment.......changed location at the last moment from 4304 and found it occupied after we arrived. There was a plumbing problem which was responded to quickly. My only complaint was they didn't do a very good job of cleaning up after themselves. Great location and spectacular views! A couple suggestions: during the daytime hours make sure to close the blinds of the window (facing east) in the living room. If you don't it will get quite warm. Also, I stayed in early September 2010 and the blinds in the master bedroom would not go UP. The maintenance man came and checked them out finding that they could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. Needless to say I was disappointed that I could not completely enjoy the ocean view from this room because of the blinds. So just make sure the blinds have been replaced so you can enjoy the view. I still had the SOUNDS of the ocean to lull me to sleep and it was great to wake up to those sounds too but having the view would have been nice. We loved the amazing view from the deck and thoroughly enjoyed how close we were to everything. The condo was pretty nice. However, I really felt like it could have been cleaned a little better. The floors were dirty... it didn't smell super clean. However, overall it was great. I think next time we will pick something that is a little more out of the way. We had no idea that it was in the middle of "condo land". Anini Beach would have been much more our style. We do plan to come back to Kauai! We loved it so much!
