Nice, small property Karin W. from Eppelheim, Germany recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2013 We had a comfortable 5-days-stay in Sandpiper 121B. The appartement is small, so is the fridge (we brought too much food to store it)but we had all we needed and liked being there, especially because it is not far to nice beaches, hiking trails and so. Only the fact, that the swimmingpool was out of order made us a bit upset. Obviously they were restoring it, so it must have been planned before.Nevertheless: A recommandable place to stay in kauai's north for some days. |

So So in Kauai A guest from Victoria, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2013 Toilet rocks & flushes poorly, had to use plunger several times a day. Swimming pool under major repairs but not told, discovered it on arrival. Management company unresponsive. Visit Kauai, but stay somewhere else. |

Stay at 121B SandPiper A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 The condo was small but clean and nice. However, in the instructions it said to park in spot Reserved 121, but there was no spot 121, so we parked in the guest parking across the street. It is in a great location close to restaurants and the beach. |

The condo was cozy and comfortable. Our time on the Northshore was wonderful and romantic for our 32nd anniversary. The studio condo was clean, quiet, nicely decorated and so reasonably priced. We would definately stay at Sand Piper 121b again. |

Great stay in Kauai A guest from Irvington, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2012 Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my stay at Sandpiper Condominiums in Kauai. The studio was very clean, the condo complex was well-maintained, and I had no issues with parking. Nevertheless, I feel there are a few, simple areas where improvements could be made for future guests - 121 A + B should be clearly labeled, the curtain should fully cover the glass slider for privacy, and there should be 2 stools at the counter (presently, only one person can eat at the counter). Lastly, sound pollution was quite a problem. We could hear our neighbors talking, TVs playing, and screaming toddlers at all hours - even with all windows closed. |

Okay place to lay my head A guest from Maricopa, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2012 The studio was neat, tidy and pleasant. Only a number of things bothered me;one of which was the pillows (flat), only a hot plate (so no cooking), unit hard to find in the dark (no number on door or parking space), was unable to locate laundry facilities and the shower head was old, took a number of days to lose the musty, mildew smell which even the bedding smelled like (should of been vented a few days prior to arrival). Overall I enjoyed my stay and the lcation of the property was where I needed to be. |

Great value Kari m. from Honolulu, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2012 This condo was an exceptional value for the location in princeville. It was not top of the line accommodations but had everything we needed. The grounds around the condo were also beautiful with all the tropical foliage. Mangent was very helpful and check in and out was easy. Nice central location in the beautiful north. My only complaint was the hot tub was out of order and there is no bathtub just a shower. The bed was extremely comfortable and unit well equipped. Overall I would stay again.... A nice quiet getaway. |

3 night stay March 2012 A guest from Calgary, AB recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2012 Very pleased with the location and quiet complex. Unit was clean with basic supplies. 121S and 121B had obviously been one Unit previously and small kitchen area added to 121B to make it a Studio Unit. No bathroom sink; only sink was the Kitchen sink. Lanai was larger than most. Unit is good for 2 people at the most but I would recommend only a short stay and not any length of time. |

Good location. Ok place. A guest from Berkeley, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2011 The room was on the ground floor right by the parking lot so didn't feel safe having the windows open. Kitchen is very minimal. No separate bathroom sink so have to use same sink for washing dishes and brushing your teeth. Shower curtain was too short so we had to be very careful when taking a shower so we wouldn't get water all over the bathroom floor. |

You get what you pay for chris f. from duvall, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2011 If you expect a clean cheap place so you don't have to sleep outside, this works. If you go cheap, don't expect luxury. A few things that were unexpected - the metal "kitchen" sink was also the bathroom sink, which can ceate noise/privacy issues. The neighbors dryer exhaust vent comes out on the lanai (interesting aroma while eating dinner). The curtains are all 6 inches short of covering the window or patio door. There is no range or oven, only a plug in cook top. The only refrigerator is a mini-fridge with a freezer compartment that was solid frost. The lanai fronts on the parking lot, so there is no view of anything. The pool (and therefor common BBQ grills) were closed the entire time. For getting a feel for the island on the cheap, the place works fine. Don't expect the Ritz - because you didn't pay for the Ritz! It is a comfortable nothing special place with no frills. |

Dirty and Noisy Dyanna C. from Victoria, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 As it's probably an older building having paper-thin walls can't be helped. But cleaning the place a little better can. Our sheets smelled like mildew, the sink was all grimey, and the shower wasn't much better. The housekeeper is a very nice lady so I feel bad saying this. :( |

Stayed for 7 days in March, 2011 The only issues we had were that our neighbors above and to the side of us were very noisy. There was a baby that was constantly crying, and a couple guys who were constantly arguing. The location was great- although a little dark in the condo. I would recommend to my friends- good price great location...if you can deal with the noise. |

Stayed for 8 days in February, 2011 Sandpiper villages are cute and somehat fun. We souls stay there again if a few things were changed. Our unit, 121b, was cute but not the cleanest we arrived. Hair from the past tenant was still in the shower and on the floors and we could feel sand and sut under our feet when we walked on the floors which was somewhat disappointing. The pillow cases on the first night smelled like human head as if they seriously needed to be washed or replaced. The owners quickly replaced the sheets and pillowcases upon my phone call and had it cleaned a bit better. That was nice but it was dissappointing to arrive there like that. When I placed a call to the manager he called back promptly but did needed to call me back to answer my question about where a potential laundromat might be... And he never called back. We had a great time in Kauai but were disappointed with these things. |

Very nice location, mostly clean condo A guest from Fullerton, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 I had been pretty wary of staying at this property because of the mostly negative reviews on the site. The good news is, none of the issues brought up by previous visitors (crazy neighbors, broken sliding door) were an issue this time. There were people playing music until maybe 11pm but it was not unreasonable. And like most places on the island, there were roosters crowing as early as 3 or 4am. The condo was mostly in good condition when we arrived. The major issue was the pillows - while the sheets/pillowcases were clean, the pillows themselves reeked strongly of body odor, as if they had been slept on by a thousand dirty old men and not been changed in years. It was so bad that it kept us up the first night, and the second night we had to use the couch cushions and wrap towels around them. This was all despite the fact that there were waterproof pillow protectors on the pillows. The location of the condo is great if you are looking for a good basecamp on the north shore. Super close to two awesome beaches - Hideaways and Queen's Bath (though both involve a bit of a hike to get to). Neighborhood is very upscale and safe.We enjoyed working with Cathy at Ahh! Aloha rentals; she was very friendly, helpful and informative while booking the reservation, and there were no issues we needed her help on during our stay so we were happy with the level of service. |

Stayed for 5 days in August, 2010 Lovely place, neat, handy location, excellent value! Be sure to ask for the all the possible contact phone numbers (in case you can't get in contact with the first number), especially if you are arriving on the weekend. Also ask for instructions on how to get into the place in advance. We were caught out and didn't/couldn't receive instructions on how to get into the place, so spent the first night elsewhere. They did reverse the charge for the first night though. It was a very last minute booking, so try to book at least a few days ahead to allow for response times through email. |

Aug. 8-10 - Sandpiper 121B Laurie P. from Goleta, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 This little unit was perfect for our trip! It was pristinely clean with all the basic ammenities. Very simple and very nice. We enjoyed several meals from the small kitchen and on the patio. The neighbors were quiet so we enjoyed a good night's sleep. Overall, a great experience. When I return to Kauai, I will definitely try to reserve this unit. A great deal and a perfect experience. Poor Sandpiper A guest from San Francisco, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2010 Unit 121B at the Sandpiper was less than I expected. I knew it would be small but I didn't know it wouldn't have a fan or air conditioner. So the place was musty and smelly when we arrived. It was better after airing it out and living in it for a coupla days. But the pillows and bedding remained smelly, as did the towels. I recommend that the property manager freshen things up before a guests arrival. My husband seemed to think no one had stayed there in months. I did appreciate that there was a Kauai travel book, as I'd left mine at home. Overall, this place made us realize that it's worth it to spend more on a place to be comfortable. |

Excellent Location - Great Price! Diana H. from Los Angeles, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2010 This little bachelor pad was the perfect place for my boyfriend and I to spend a week in Kauai. The location in Princeville was excellent - close to Queen's Bath, great restaurants/grocery store, the St. Regis for sunset drinks - perfect. The only issues were that this unit does NOT have a dedicated parking spot which had been promised - parking late one night was problematic and calls to the property manager in Kauai and in Texas offered no help at all. Also, the house behind this unit has a rooster which loves to make noise at ALL HOURS. This is a relative point since roosters are all over the island making noise 24/7 - it was just a bit annoying at 3:30am every morning. Overall it was a great value! |

Princeville is a great location, Ahh Aloha Vacation Rental Services is not so great. A guest from Seattle, WA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2010 I arranged a rental with Ahh Aloha Vacation Rental Services/Sandra Greenburg. The rental fee for Sandpiper 121B was affordable, the photos looked great and Sandy did a great job selling me the rental. The unit was clean; had the basics to for our stay: a bed w/ a clean quilt, newer couch, a few old towels, a worn coffee maker, a newer dorm sized fridge, and other very used kitchenware. We were using the accommodation as our 'base'; had plans of spending our days playing and being active on this amazing island. The problem with the Sandpiper, especially this unit, is that there are very loud full-time tenants that occupy the complex. We received a private harmonica and singing concert (amplifier included) by our neighbor for 3 of the 5 nights we stayed here. Not only was he up until 11pm, 2 am or 4am in the morning (depending on the night) he was also intoxicated or suffering from a severe mental illness. I am not judging this person's mental state however it is important to point out as I felt our safety was compromised. One of the nights we were this man became locked out of his unit and spent about 3 hours pacing in front of our door and stumbling around the building ? yelling, screaming and singing the entire time. We followed directions to work through issues but didn't get anywhere to correct the issue. Dealing with Sandra Greenburg of Ahh Aloha was not good. She was not responsive (I left several messages b/f receiving a return call), when we did speak she instantly accused me of trying to 'get a free vacation in Kauai.' In actuality, we needed to be heard and acknowledged for the noise and safety concerns. We left the property with two days left on the rental agreement b/c we could not handle the noise. We should have called the police but we didn't want to be an 'annoying tourist'; felt this should have been handled by the rental agency. I feel that a refund for 4 nights would have been fair as we tried to work through |

Kelly W. from Louisville, CO does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 6 days in March, 2010 The unit was in a great location and was clean, but for the majority of my stay either the cable or hi speed internet did not work, there was only a single skillet to cook with, no pots or pans, no laundry facilities on that side of the island, no reserved parking space, and the private lanai faced the parking lot. I felt pretty mislead, and when I got in touch with the property managers they seemed clueless about almost everything. Everywhere else that I have stayed, there has been a notebook of helpful info, a started pack with coffee and creamer and sufficient cooking equipment to make a meal. If I wanted to eat out all the time, I would have stayed in a hotel. Hopefully they will get things better organized in the future. |
