You will be a few feet away from the center of Positano. You will have air-conditioning, parking space in a garage below the apartment and winter heating available.
At Villa Ursula B you will have two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living-room with divan beds for a total of three people, a separate kitchen, and a large furnished terrace.
Location
Villa Ursula is an old white three-storey building located high on a steep coast above the sea. When leaning against the windows or railings of the terraces, your eyes will meet the blue sea and the green of a picturesque stretch of high coast rich in inlets and small beaches.
The building dates back to the eighteenth century and is located near the upper inhabited area of Positano, 50 meters (about 164 feet) away from the main bus stop of the SITA bus and the local mini shuttle.
The villa has been recently restored, and it offers two vacation apartments, Villa Ursula A and Villa Ursula B. You will have the advantage, rare on the Amalfi Coast, to reach it right away from the coastal road without the need of climbing the town’s usual stairways, except for the steps inside the building. To reach Villa Ursula A, which takes the whole first floor, you have to climb only 20 steps, whereas to reach Villa Ursula B, which occupies the whole second floor and upper floor, you will have to climb 40 steps.
From both apartments you can reach a large terrace, 100 square meters (about 1,076 square feet) large, which has been divided in two by flower boxes; one part for each apartment. Each apartment has its own furnished area with a table, chairs, umbrella, and deck chairs. Besides, you also have the possibility of sharing the barbecue and the outdoor shower.
On the ground floor, near the entrance to the villa, you will have a private garage inside which you will have one parking space for each apartment.
However, having a car is not necessary as the bus stop is only 50 meters (about 164 feet) away.
The house
You reach Villa Ursula B after climbing a 40-step staircase. You will enter a corridor. The corridor leads to the living-room.
Once in the living-room, you will be attracted right away by the large arched balcony framing a breathtaking landscape.
Down below you is the blue of the sea and its gleaming waves under the sun. Not far you will see the green of the high coast, dotted here and there by the white of elegant villas surrounded by gardens. Far ahead your eyes will drift away towards a vast horizon of sea.
In the living-room, table and chairs are arranged in a way so that even if seated you can enjoy the view of the sea. Near this dining area you will have the kitchen, furnished with a four-burner stove, an oven, a large fridge with freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Even the kitchen features a window overlooking the sea.
In the most isolated area of the living-room you will find two couches arranged in front of an old fireplace and also the TV area with a satellite-dish television. One couch can be turned into a single bed while the other turns into a double bed. A curtain will allow you to separate the area of the divan beds from the rest of the living-room at night.
Both double bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the living-room. They are bright, elegant, large and comfortable with spacious closets. Both have windows and balcony through which you can enjoy the view of the sea and the coast. Upon request, you can have two single beds instead of the double one in one of the bedrooms.
One of the two bathrooms is inside the bedroom. The second bathroom of the apartment is reached through the corridor. Both bathrooms are decorated with shiny little tiles in ceramics from local handicraft. Both also feature spacious showers.
The apartment is airy, bright and pleasant. Furnishings are elegant, featuring typical traits of old houses in Positano: glossy floor in local handicraft blue terracotta, high vaulted ceiling painted in white, and decorations with stucco and columns which recall the eighteenth-century origins of the building.
The terrace
As guests of Villa Ursula B you will have a large terrace with a fabulous view of the sea and the coast exclusively at your disposal. To enter the terrace you will need to descend 16 steps. The terrace is sun-drenched from dawn to sunset, and you will find it perfect to sunbathe at any time of the year since its north side is shielded by a high rocky wall.
The terrace is furnished with a table, chairs, umbrella, and deck chairs. In addition, there is also an outdoor shower and a large portable barbecue which are shared with eventual guests of Villa Ursula A.
The beaches
During your stay at Villa Ursula you will be near a beautiful beach called Arienzo and the Spiaggia Grande (Great Beach) of Positano.
Arienzo is an enthralling little beach of fine gravels at the end of a small inlet. You can reach it by taking the local mini-shuttle or by walking 500 meters ( about 1,640 feet) and then descending a path from above the coast until down by sea (300 steps... but with breathtaking scenery!).
The Spiaggia Grande (Great Beach) is the heart of all the tourist activities of Positano. You can easily reach it from Villa Ursula if you take the local mini-shuttle or if you go down on foot while pleasantly passing through the whole center of Positano. When it’s time to go up again and if you’re not in shape, you can always take the local mini-shuttle again!
During spring/summer, small boats offer linking services between Spiaggia Grande and other beaches set within the rocky coast: take advantage of it and enjoy ease and nice bathing time in the tiny and enthralling bays therein, which are many times only reachable by sea.
