First impression of property exterior was a concern as buildings appeared as a run down motel. Think paint would be a great improvement. We tried to eat @ Mobic ****'s - never got in and will never go back. Castaway's temp was way too hot - made eating dinner alittle tough. I did not have to much contact with the staff @ property, only when checking in and out. We had no wireless- after two day they thought it was fixed but it was not. We never got wireless and everyone passed the buck on whose responsibility it was to fix the problem. Most of the people did not even say they were sorry. The walls in the bathroom were becoming bare and old wallpaper was showing through. Carpet in bedrooms was stained. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 I have rented units 33 and 34 for several years for my family vacation, and have always been very pleased. These are beachside, and although there isn't much of a view, they both have decks that are very quiet. These units are out of the main pedestrian path, and it always feels like we are by ourselves. Location is great and very convenient. The beach is just a short walk across the dunes. Maintenance responded immediately to our call regarding the garbage disposal.Parking space is limited. The pool was closed for one whole day for maintenance. Change from previous years -- never saw any maids. Have to pick up keys offsite. Have to take your trash to the garbage bins that are conveniently located. No daily clean towels -- good thing we brought extras.Overall -- very good place to stay for my family vacation. I especially like having the upper and lower units together. Will most likely stay again and would recommend if you want a clean place that's nothing fancy. It slept A guest from Caldwell, TX. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 Check in time is 4:00. We arrived at 3:42 and were told we had to wait 10 minutes before we could "contractually" get the key. Upon arrival we found that one of the toilets was broken - they sent maintenance to fix in a timely manner. The pictures do not show that this is a brick complex which was probably a motel when originally built in the 60's and you can tell. The kitchen was great but the rest of the condo was just "fine". Nothing great, nothing horrible. The beds were hard and the AC did not work great. The boardwalk they show in the pictures is a concrete pathway that ends in the dunes then you walk down a path through the dunes - no more boardwalk. We came in peak season so we paid more, but this was NOT worth the amount of money we paid. If I was 20 and packed in with a bunch of friends it would be great, but not with 4 adults and 2 kids. The good thing is we adapted, the kids had fun and we stayed at the beach most of the time. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2012 Regardiong the unit and property itself: I was a bit disapointed with the state of repair of the walk to the beach ie the lack of a boardwalk over some rough terrain. Also a sweeper of sorts should be put in the unit for longer stayiong guests to clean up during their stay. The washer Dryer unit in the condo was an absolutly wonderful perk. Over all I was very pleased with the unit The office staff of Port A Escapes was fantastic! Properly professional and extreemly helpful. Special Kudos to Patrick with whom I worked the most in helping me to find a place that really met my needs I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend your property mgmt company to anyone I know who might be visiting the area.
