This condo has an open livingroom and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped. The master bedroom has a Queen size bed and the second bedroom has two twins.There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living area. There a two full baths one in each bedroom. Pets are not permitted in this unit and smoking is allowed outside only.Oh, did I mention the sunrises are amazing! Stayed for 67 days in December, 2012 This unit need updated; with pictures, fresh paint, putting the master bedroom facing the gulf, removing old carpet, and getting rid of those ugly big fish. I would not stay in this unit again. However, the view is a million dollar view of the gulf and shipping cannel. There were very few utensils in the kitchen - only one teaspoon! All of the dishware could use an upgrade. The remote for the tv did not work well and there was no remote for the DVD player. Great location, but poorly kept up and roaches love it there. A guest from San Antionio, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 We had to check in/out at a seperate location. Condo is in need of alot of repairs, bath faucets are almost coming out of the wall, doors stick, bad foundation-you can feel the sloping going from one room to the next, very old buildings. And I had a huge roach crawling on me in bed in the middle of the night. Turned on all the lights in the condo and they were in every room! Management didn't seem concerned, hasn't even responded to my complaint. Kid's playground was nice, location is great but we won't be back, kind of hard to get over sleeping with roaches. Disappointed with BH306 A guest from TEMPLE, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2012 Upon arrival, we discovered that the unit had a bad odor and the ceiling fan in the bedroom was broken. The next day, we discovered the dishwasher still had dishes in it, and couldn't tell if it had been run or not. There were also roaches in the unit. The property management company was contacted, and sent someone out that afternoon. Unfortunately, the ceiling fan couldn't be repaired and we were told the unit was sprayed for roaches in the previous week. We have had good experiences at the Beachhead previously, but will not stay in BH 306 again. The condo was conveniently located to the beach. Although an older property, it was well maintained. Our condo was comfortable with nice furniture and amenities. I noticed roaches in the kitchen but this is the Texas coast. I'd stay there again. We had a really good time. Our second time in Jan's Oasis & of the three units we've stayed in, this one has a well loved feel, with family fishing pictures mixed in with beach decor. New living room furniture this time,beds are comfortable & towels are great! Ocean views good from living room & second bedroom as well as balcony. We loved watching ships come in & out of port! Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 My family and I (two adults - 2 children) recently stayed at this Condo and we were very satisfied. The location was great, kid friendly & most importantly view was amazing. We vacation to Port A at least once a year and this was by far the best trip due to convenience of location. For me, the highlight of the trip was coming in every night after a long day at the beach and relaxing on the private balcony over looking the ocean while the kids made themselves comfortable indoors. It is a quiet & peaceful community so if that's what you're looking for this is definitely the place to stay. Great Port A weekend A guest from Bastrop, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 This condo was very nice and homey. Counters, bathrooms, linens, etc were all much cleaner than any hotel we've been to, Except by the second day there were small roaches in the kitchen. The only other complaint is that the Internet never worked. Management explained that it was an issue with TimeWarner. Again, we were very happy with the grounds and location. A Bit of a Disappointment Darlene o. from Flower Mound, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2012 My husband and I have been going to BeachHead for over 12 years. We have a lot of wonderful memories there and have always loved that it's very family friendly and not overcrowded with wonderful access to the beach. This time was rather disappointing. We noticed the outside of the property had a lot of repairs done and looked nice, but the inside of the unit (306 BH) was lacking in several ways. There were a ton of bugs in the kitchen that we had to kill nightly. Also, the kitchen spoons were short (only 2 regular spoons). There was no back up TP in one bathroom. The internet connection was terrible even after calling Port A office, they were unable to resolve it for us. The DVD only showed black and white. The sofa was soiled and the master bed spread had many brown stains. On the back patio, there were only 2 chairs for a room that sleeps 4. We also felt the cost per night was too high, considering the condition. We also felt that there should not be an additional cleaning fee attached to the bill. That should be taken care of in the $240 a night. When I went home and called Port A about my experience, I spoke with Donna Lou who I felt to be rather unsympathetic. While not outright rude, I felt she was lacking in concern. She was quick to place blame on BeachHead property instead of taking responsibility. She also placed the blame on ME for not letting them know sooner. THEY are the ones that should check out each unit for shortcomings so customers don't have to complain! She even had the audacity to tell me at the end of our conversation that maybe I would be better off trying another property next time. She clearly has no real investment in this property. I finally spoke to Cynthia at Beachhead directly. She was very sweet and symapthetic and assured me she was working on the issues. I greatly appreciated her attitude and will give them another try. Great Long Weekend 2012 Chris B. from Frisco, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2012 We stayed for Memorial Day weekend Thursday-Monday. We picked this location because it was literally in the middle of town. Last year we stayed in a condo 15 minutes away and it felt too isolated. Check-in was a breeze as always. Once we got to the condo I was surprised because the place felt bigger then the pictures made me think it would be. We had six adults and we had plenty of room. The view was awesome. This third floor location allows you to see over the dunes into the water. However, you don't see the beach itself so even on this busy weekend it was quiet and you didn't feel the crowds. All the appliances worked perfectly. The A/C was on a comfortable 76 when we got there and the fridge was cold and ready for our food. The deck could use a few more chairs but we had beach chairs so it was not a problem. The pool was very nice for the first couple days but by Sunday it was looking fairly yellow and dirty. I was told it was from mismanagement of chemicals by others who have had pools. The playground was fun for the little one. It was in good shape with plenty of things to climb and swing on. Called twice on day of arrival. Upon arrival found out reservations where made for next month. They quickly found a comparable condo. Upon arrival at condo couldn't get in because of corrosion in deadlock key hole. Luckily someone from prop mgt showed up and got the door open. Were supposed to send locksmith. We locked door knob lock to go to dinner. Upon return door was unlocked but deadbolt not fixed. Locksmith never showed up. Other than that, condo was nice and you can't beat right on the beach. The only complaint that we have about this stay, was that a very rude lady approached us outside our property about our golf carts. The way she approached us and with the tone she took was very unprofessional and did not set well with us at all. She said she had complaints about "girls" driving too fast on the property and going over speed bumps way too fast. When we were approached by her, she totally caught us off guard. We were like it can not be us, because for one, us "ladies" (2 of us being 40, one of us being 49 and the other 60) were by no means speeding on the golf carts, plus 2 of us ladies have extremely large breasts, which would make speeding over the speed bumps a huge discomfort and we also had a handicap child we were transporting, therefore I don't see how any of us could be speeding over the speed bumps with him either. The more we thought about it, it made us very upset. For one there are no speed limits on that property and 2 of us had brand new golf carts from cars and carts and the govenors were set to not go over 10mph and we knew that because we complained that they were too slow and we felt like we were holding up traffic at times because they were so slow. So with that being said, not happy at all about the approach from whomever this lady was. She should have asked questions and been more pleasant with her approach and maybe did some investigating before her attack. Regarding the property manager question above...we rated the check in and check out process, along with the reservation process a 5, if this lady was the property manager, we would rate her a 1.
