Cute Place!
Jamie C. from San Marcos, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014
My daughter and I wanted to get away for a long weekend on the beach. This little cottage is great, but could use just a few updates. The mattress is like sleeping on a board! Apparently, this has been a complaint by several guests, but nothing has been done. We were hot when we checked in late Thursday afternoon and we wanted a cold drink, but no one had checked the ice trays in the freezer before our arrival and they were empty! We weren't given a password to the wifi upon check in and had to wait until the following day for the management company to send someone out to check out the wifi. It's the small things that were overlooked, that would have made all the difference! Overall, the place is a great location and the view is awesome from the upper deck.

Quiet and relaxing hideaway
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014
The location is wonderful. The house is tucked away on a private street that is quiet and relaxing yet still close to town. The views from the deck are incredible. My only negative feedback would be that it would be nice if the house had more 'everyday items' like hangers and maybe a few basic cooking supplies so that visitors do not have to purchase everything on arrival. If you are headed there and are planning to cook you should pack your everyday cooking items (spices, oils, foil, etc.)

Alan G. from Georgetown, TX-Texas recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014
It's away from town, so you have to drive to nightlife or restaurants, but we liked the solitude. Nice view of the ocean from the upper deck. I liked that you won't hear people on an upper floor stomping around. There's no trail to the beach, but we didn't mind driving there.

Very Cute Historic Home
Courtney B. from Round Rock, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014
We loved our stay in this cute little cottage! I had seen pictures before, so I kind of knew what to expect when we got there. It is an older, historic home, so it has the normal wear and tear of an older beach house. But it was perfect for us! The location was perfect!

BAMI2
Alison C. from Wimberley, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in May, 2014
Our favorite thing about BAMI2 was the roof deck. you can see the gulf over the dunes, so lounging there provided all the attributes of the beach without the sand, the mucky water, and the crowds. The house is a little rough around the edges, but it's everything an old Port A beach shack should be: quaint, just a short jaunt to the beach, and a bit secluded from the vacationing crowds. On the negative, the microwave looked like a crime scene on the inside, and the floors needed a good mopping, the back deck looks like the painter got in a hurry. The Pier One Imports tag was still dangling from the wicker headboard, which seemed a little haphazard, and the LR furniture is upholstered in blue vinyl like a hospital bed. Totally understandable as far as the upholstery, considering the place is pet friendly. We left our dog at home this time, but I would love to come back with her in the fall when she could have the run of the beach. See you next time! (again- the roof deck is awesome!)

first trip to Port A
A guest from bella vista, AR does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 6 days in April, 2014
first time to Port A, had expected a much more upscale place. was disappointed, place was nice but not very comfortable, lack of enough hot water and a minimal kitchen (we planned on cooking most of our own meals due to food allergies) added to the discomfort. Had also expected direct beach access but were back in the dunes and advised to not walk through the dunes to the beach. needed a short drive to get to the beach. Decided to cut trip short and return home. Port A was a nice beach and if we decide to visit again would look for a different place.

Great pet-friendly getaway with lots of charm!
Rachel F. from Austin, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013
We stayed here for several nights with our 3 dogs and really enjoyed it. The cottage was built in the 20's and still has a lot of charm (clawfoot tub, quaint kitchen, etc.) but has been updated with new floors and window AC units. I loved waking up and seeing the dunes from the bed each morning. The decks are spacious and have bench seating. You can see the ocean from the upper deck. I would recommend bringing bug spray if you go, as we were there in November and the mosquitoes were INSANE. However, this is less a reflection on the property than the general area.My only complaints would be:1) You have to walk on the street to get to the beach, rather than straight through the dunes via a path like some other properties, which makes the walk longer - not a big deal for me, but something to be aware of.2) There are a few telephone wires criss-crossing some of the ocean view from the top deck. Again, not a big deal but it does take away somewhat from the otherwise old-world charm that the cottage has.Overall, this was a great location and I would stay there again for sure. Thanks Bami 2!

Too far from beach. Did not see a path to beach.Too many sand burrs. Had to cut/pull off my dog's hair and feet. Cabin had a very small and low sink and toilet.Otherwise the cabin was very clean and comfortable. Cute place and area.

Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013
Nice house. Great location. 2nd time to stay in one of the two located there. Please mow around the home. The stickers are pretty bad. Couple of roaches in the house, so might want to spray. Love the out door shower, but maybe spend $100 and repair. THe shower head needs replaced.

Cindy A. from King Wood, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013
The new decking was very nice. Comfortable and cozy. Quiet area and close to beach. The only suggestion for improvement is to replace the very old club aluminum. We cooked every meal and everything was available but the cookware needs updating. We would probably stay there again. The outdoors shower was great, especially for the dog.

Very clean, wonderful views!!! Beds not very comfortable, and it is a tad anug inside for 5 people! A little misleading saying there is beach access which made us think there was a boardwalk, which there isn't. To get to the beach you have to walk to the beach access road and then down to the beach. It isn't far from the beach, but not as close as a boardwalk. Overall good experience!

A quaint getaway
Shanin S. from Lago Vista, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013
Loved the cottage! A great escape with privacy and a beautiful view. The house is perfect for a couple to experience a quiet, peaceful escape. We prefer not to communicate with the same person at the property management company as we found her to be very rude, but other than that, we were very satisfied. Would love to visit again!

Tammy S. from Georgetown, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013
This cottage was adorable, intimate and comfy. The AC was cold and the beach access was perfect but you need a golf cart. Loved the top deck for moonlit evenings. NEED LAWN FURNITURE UP THERE THOUGH, so bring your own chairs. Beach access is great but you can't really walk it. Unless you like sand in your car, plan to rent a golf cart. The kitchen is VERY small and there is no dishwasher so it was just a coffee spot for us. Loved the outdoor shower for rinsing sand. Great for rinsing your dog also. Bed was hard, it would benefit from a pillowtop. No hangers in the closet. Bring your own! Really great place and we HIGHLY recommend it!

Cozy, pet-friendly beach-side cottage
A guest from Austin, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013
We booked this last minute for a holiday weekend getaway with our two medium-sized dogs. The cottage was cute but quaint. The outside deck is not nearly as nice as it looked in the photos, and could use a fresh coat of paint. We appreciated that it was clean upon our arrival and stocked with the basic amenities such as good quality sheets and towels. However, we were disappointed that the grill was basically unusable, as it was rusted out, and that the cookware in the kitchen was extremely worn and also essentially unusable, too. We had planned to cook most meals at the cottage but ended up eating out nearly the entire time. The refrigerator was clean but utensils, pots and pans could all use a serious upgrade. There was a working coffee maker, thankfully, but no filters, paper towels, kitchen sponges, etc. There is no dishwasher, either, although as it turned out we didn't need one. We also had to purchase batteries for the TV and DVD remote to get them to work. You also need to bring your own beach towels and I'd suggest you bring a blanket for the futon couch if you're bringing dogs along. A huge plus is that the property allows pets and that it's very quiet, relatively secluded, and close to the beach. It's just the right size for a couple, too, unlike a lot of the large properties. For the price per night, I'd give it just 2 or 3 stars; with a few minor updates, this could be a much better overall experience.

Weekend with Daughters...
Karen W. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013
Had a wonderful time. It was nice to get away. It was close enough to the beach for us and was very quiet. Rent a golf cart and the commute is a breeze - lots of fun too! Only downside was that the TV remotes did not work - stuck with 1 channel all weekend but we did not watch much TV.

Easter Get Away
Cole G. from Victoria, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013
The overall condition of the cabin was dated for the amount of rental. Normally $255 daily. Brenda did discount the propery for my wife and I. The upkeep could have been better, Example: radio would only play music at highest volume level, TV and or satalite were inoperable. I feel if something is in place to be utilized it should be in working order. Living room fan with light was not working at this time as well. My wife and I can adapt to pretty much anything while on vaction so the cabin was more of a delight to get away for the weekend.

Port A getaway
Mike B. from Sterling City, TX recommends this property.
Stayed for 3 days in February, 2013
Me and my wife and two Labs stayed at BAMI2. We arrived after five and the keys were waiting for us. Upon arrival we found a clean tastefully furnished 1 BR beachhouse just a short walk to the water. We used the Webber for some outdoor grilling and enjoyed a few beverages watching the sunset from the porch. There was a decent little Golf Course just across the street and the Sunday Brunch at the 361 at Port Royal was awesome and was less than a mile from the beach house. Overall it was a relaxing getaway for my wife and I and a fun-filled beach experience for the dogs.
