Two issues I see with the outsourcing of the management:1) the people at Port A Escapes are less knowledgeable about Sea Isle Village than the previous in-house managers were2) I suggest the people at Port A Escapes ask the people if there were any problems with their rooms, so that this info could be made known to the maintenance people. We had three or four problems with the room that we reported to maintenance before we checked out. But at Port A Escapes, you pretty much throw your keys on the counter and they say thank you and have a safe trip... Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 I had been searching and searching for a reasonably priced placed to stay in Port Aransas for a few weeks. I wanted something close to the beach, but affordable. Sea Isle Village (Dancing Dolphin) was just what I was looking for. There's a board walk at the location that takes you to the beach, plus a shower to rinse for when you come back. We were able to sea the ocean from our balcony. There's a pool and a fish washing station there as well. The apartments themselves weren't fancy or modern, but we spent very little time in them. There was a microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot and cable tv. The staff was nice and allowed us to check-in 2 hours early, which was awesome. The room was nice and clean along with the whole property. We stayed on second floor so we had a good view of the gulf and the beach was just a short walk over the dunes. It was the kids first time to see the ocean/gulf waters of anykind and they had a blast. It was nice because where you walked over the dunes it was just beach no piers. Will definantly be back!! Sea Isle Village is definitely a "no go". It is well past its prime. The pool area was fine, location was fine, but it fell short in every other category. There was no parking available due to people bringing too many vehciles and golf carts, the room was cramped, had inadequate power outlets, the door had to be lifted and pushed in order to shut, the room needed a lot of work internally, the people around were far too loud and noisy, the tub and sink would not hold water, the teeny tiny bathroom shelf was falling off the wall, the weeds (I hesittate to call it grass) were overgrown and was full of stickers, etc.--If this is representative of Port Aransas Escapes properties then I would recommend another company. There were plenty of other options. I mentioned to management the condition and they said "yeah, it is old and run down, we just took that property over"-- My question is why offer it in this condition to begin with? What can i say beach side, full kitchen, near by stores, clean rooms, nice size and clean pool. the only thing was the pool hrs were only till 10 pm but its summer and we really wanted to stay there longer at nite out of the sun. i will recommend and return!! Stayed for 2 days in June, 2012 I have been vacationing at this complex for over ten years and this new managemnet has me feeling annoyed. I remember a time when I could go to the office ON SITE and check in/out. Now, I have to drive out of my way to do so and waste a perfectly good morning on the office to open (9am). I did arrive 5 hrs after check in due to an accident and having to get my room key out of the lock box was VERY difficult, had to ask the neighbor for help. This OFF SITE NEW management is lucky I LOVE home AKA Sea Isle Village so much. I can't not give higher praises to the complex (location/rooms/pool), too bad I can't say the same for Port A Escapes Management. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2012 We returned to Sea Isle Village since my parents enjoyed their retirement here and we had many good times there. The location couldn't be better! Just as we remembered! A short walk through the dunes to the beach. The rental could use a little upkeep, the beds were small,(fullsize),but comfortable if the sheets hadn't kept coming off and you didn't keep ending up laying on the plastic under it. It had a barstyle table & 2 stools, nice size fridge and microwave, tub & shower. We had a deck with a picnic table to sit outside at night and enjoy the sounds of the rolling surf. The price was right until they tacked on all the additional costs that raised the price 1.5 X's the original cost per night.(cleaning costs,taxes & security deposit.(that is not returned) The resort is very quiet. Has a outdoor pool. A couple nights is fine, but you wouldn't want to stay here a week or more. Port Aransas is a beautiful area with so much to offer! You'll leave with many great memories!
