This two story beach house offers an unobstructed view of the ocean from it's spacious, covered lanai, perfect for relaxing with a sunset mai tai while dinner is on the grille. The master bedroom suite is gorgeous, spacious, comfortable, all the while offering commanding views of the tropical landscaping and whitewater ocean views. The home is maintained to the highest possible standard and is upgraded and furnished for complete comfort with thought given to every accoutrement. Shipwrecks Beach Cottage is situated within a two minute walk to stunning, white sand, crescent shaped Shipwrecks Beach and there is an easy, beautiful path to nearby Poipu Beach and Brenneckes Beach. Along the way is Poipu Kai Tennis and the resort pool and spa. The Grand Hyatt Kauai is located a seashell's throw to the east, a moonlit stroll away. Amenities at the Hyatt are numerous and splendid, including the Anara Spa, Poipu Bay Golf Course, wonderful shopping, and a variety of delectable dining offerings.

Unbelievably there are both sunrise and sunset views of the beach although you are back from the water. The house is lovely and well stocked. It is a short walk to Shipwreck Beach. Great hiking trail from Shipwreck to the east. Closer to the Hyatt conference rooms then some of the Hyatt guest rooms are. It is beautiful and very comfortable. Only suggestions would be to put more lighting on the porch, it's hard to BBQ in the dark, a better coffee pot wouldn't hurt either but these were the only negatives and we highly recommend it. Only minor bummer was the home's proximity to the Hyatt's parking lot, but ultimately it wasn't so bad. The ocean view made up for the lot! Launching from the Shipwreck Cottage A guest from Etobicoke, ON recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2012 I love the Poipu area and I have been interested in buying a home in this area. Until I do however, I appreciate the opportunity to stay in great rentals like Shipwreck Cottage. This cottage comes fully equipped and even stocked with spices left by other renters. The location is right on the Poipu Kai green-belt and just back of the ocean-front. It has an excellent ocean view. That it is positioned across a hedge from a large hotel employee parking lot was off-putting to me when I first realized this but quite honestly the car noise is no greater than that on a private residential street. In fact, the only time that you hear anything at all is at the 7AM shift start and in my experience, even this was minimal; a few car motors and perhaps a car door.
