The top part can only be reached by 2 cobbled stone pedestrian alleys called "Vecchie Carraie" (approx 100 m). Historical, quiet village with 4'800 inhabitants in the western part of the region 50 km from the sea, on a slope, 42 km south-east from Pisa, 70 km south-west from Firenze. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Thermal pool, health cures at 14 km. Access: motorway Firenze-Pisa-Livorno - (FI-PI-LI), exit number "Pontedera/Ponsacco". Then road SS. 439. Access by train Firenze - Pisa. Railway station "Pontedera" 16 km. Volterra 28 km. San Gimignano 40 km. For arrivals by plane: airport Pisa (PSA) 40 km, Firenze (FLR) 75 km.
