Starfish House is a Mediterranean-style home on a quiet side street just steps from the beach. Lush tropical landscaping surrounds its yellow exterior, which looks delightfully sun-bleached. Step inside and you're in a giant great room, with a cathedral ceiling, huge fireplace, TV, hardwood floors, and comfortable furniture. French doors lead out to a sun-washed balcony. This is beach living at its very finest!
Perfect for a family or large group, Starfish House has 3 roomy bedrooms & a twin sleeper sofa that sleep 9 people comfortably, 3 full bathrooms, several separate balcony and deck areas, and best of all, a crow's nest viewing spot on the rooftop with panoramic vistas! You will feel literally on top of the world as you survey the Atlantic Ocean, the cinnamon-colored sands of the beach, the lush dunes, and beautiful Ocean Hammock Resort! It's a great place to stargaze too, and if you happen to get up early enough, be sure to sprint up here for an unbelievable view of the sunrise!
On the top floor, the master suite is a delight, with a king-size canopy bed from which you can look out through the French doors and beyond the balcony. There is a TV in here, soft carpeting, and a full bathroom with a deluxe shower en suite. Drenched in soft, warm colors, it's a cozy nest for long morning lie-ins!
On the main floor, the second bedroom also boasts an en suite bathroom -- very convenient if you're traveling with another couple! This room is sunny as well, with a queen-size bed.
Our third bedroom contains two double beds and is next to another full bathroom, just perfect for the kids or friends. And since all of the linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided for you here at Starfish House, you need never worry about packing extras. When it's time to freshen them, just pop them into our washer and dryer. All the conveniences of home, but in a splendid new setting!
Speaking of splendid, the kitchen at Starfish House is a chef's dream, with gleaming stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops, and all the built-ins that save you valuable time at the beach. In this kitchen (which is large enough for two cooks to work without banging elbows!) you'll find everything you need to prepare a feast and serve it in style in our window-filled dining room, equipped with a long polished wood table and fine rattan chairs. Of course, if takeout is more your style, turn the dining area into a game table and pull out the blender and microwave for frosty beverages and tasty snacks!
Of course, most of your time at Starfish House will probably be spent outdoors, on one of our balconies and decks. We have an ultra-comfortable hammock, just perfect for finishing that beach novel or catching a quick nap in the balmy sea breeze. And with free wireless Internet, the balconies are a great place to take your electronics and catch up on email or social media. So peaceful and beautiful -- the balconies are highly addictive! There is a bonus 4th full bathroom on the 1st level perfect for washing off sand.
If you can tear yourself away, do stroll down to the beach. The cinnamon-colored sands are marvelous, the waves are alluring, and the sunrise is a sight never to be forgotten. This is a family-oriented beach, with shells and fossils to be discovered at low tide, sandcastles to be built, and waves to be ridden.
Starfish House is the gated community of Cinnamon Beach Resort, adjacent to the renowned Ocean Hammock Resort and Golf Course. Our resort offers 2 heated swimming pools -- one with a zero-slope entrance for easy accessibility -- plus a Jacuzzi, and a clubhouse with 2 gamerooms, fitness center, and café. Excellent stay in a beautiful resort area! A guest from Canton, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2013 The house is big and beautiful. All amenities (except we couldn't find a plunger so we bought one and left it in the home-so don't worry!). The house was so big that maybe we missed it. Beds were comfy. Backyard well-groomed, and we (and our dogs) and a very relaxing, enjoyable stay. The lower level has bikes and such for guests to use. The beach area is really nice and close to the house. We really liked that as well. The entire resort area of Hammock Dunes is meticulous with security, so it wasn't crowded. Met several friendly local owners and visitors. Also, Vacation Rental Pros were first class. It was easier to book this home than a hotel room. Everything went smoothly and I enjoyed the e-mail "take out the trash" reminders! Steve Milo runs a tight ship and everything went very smoothly. The area of Palm Coast has several really good restaurants (look them up in tripadvisor) very close to the property. Only 30 minutes from St. Augustine to the north and Daytona Beach to the south. Beware of the nonstop traffic cameras. There is like one of them every 100 feet. It's a money-maker for the local government I guess. I felt a bit paranoid driving the mile down palm coast parkway to !-95. The drives along A1A is spectacular (and no cameras!). Nice home but... Sandy S. from Jacksonville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 The house was overall very nice and conveniently located. But the home NEEDS a good cleaning. There was blood on the bed sheets which we had to basically scrub out since we did not want our kids sleeping on it. The stairs were all dirty and looked like they had not been wiped. Dead bugs on the floors, it had appeared no one had cleaned the house before our arrival. The tv in the living room needs to be updated. The HDTV's are located in the master and guest room not in a common area where everyone can enjoy and not large either, maybe 19in. Home needs some basic maintenance, doors would stick, faucets leaked (especially in kitchen)but overall we were happy with our choice. We enjoyed the area and would return again if cleaned better. Fantastic house, fantastic location A guest from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 This was our first vacation in North Florida and other than what I saw on the Internet before renting this house, I had no idea what the area was like. We were more than happy with the choice. The house is beautiful and in a great location - a couple minute walk from the beach and the club and swimming pools. The bikes and beach chairs at the house were much appreciated too. One thing we particularly liked was how much there is to do in the area. We went kayaking, visited the Bulow plantation ruins, swam with the dolphins, went to St. Augustine, and ran and biked - there's definitely more than just going to the beach. But with all there is to do, sitting in the crows nest and catching the breeze before breakfast and in the evening was one of the most pleasant and unique features of this house and vacation. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2012 My family stayed here for a week and really enjoyed the house, location and amenities of the Cinnamon Beach community. The house was very open, light and bright. We had wished the bedrooms were upstairs as only the master bedroom is, but that is our mistake as we had not read the description thoroughly enough. It is a very solid house and built well as sound does not travel through the walls/doors. Its a 5 minute walk to the beach and the pool/cafe complex, the cafe is great with nice people and good prices. Its a very safe community, and is kept up well. The entire third floor is a master suite with it's own balcony & access to the observation deck, bathroom, & tv. There are 2 queens in the 2nd room on the main level with direct access to a bathroom & a tv. The 3rd room on the main level has a queen bed, its own bathroom, tv, & direct access to the balcony which contains a hammock, grill, outdoor seating, & stairs directly to the ground. There is also a shower in the basement which houses bikes, ping pong table, & lots of room! The dining room, living room with tv, & kitchen provide ample living space on the main level with access to the same balcony as the 3rd bedroom. There is also a laundry room, so no need to pack much. A small balcony is at the top of the stairs before you get to the master bedroom. The home is in excellent condition, & the location is just a two minute walk to the pools & beach access. Daytona is 35 minutes south on scenic A1A while St. Augustine is the same distance north on A1A. Access to Palm Coast (restaurants, groceries) is via a toll bridge which currently costs $2 for a normal sized vehicle. (You only pay to come back to the property location.) I'd recommend this property to anyone seeking a relaxing beach vacation & beautiful sunrises! We plan to return again next year! The house was conveniently located and in close proximity to the ocean. The house and amenities were excellent, however, some of the ocean views are now obstructed with new construction in the area. The house was clean, however, the carpets need to be cleaned / replaced and the TV in the living room replaced as the colour controls did not work properly. Furniture in living room and dining room starting to show age.Overall, our stay with our pet was terrific and we have already booked next year's winter vacation in Cinnamon Beach. Great location and community and great ammentities with the two pools and beach accesss! The home and pictures were exactly as described. I would admit that the home could use some touch ups and updates. The TV in the main living area is very old and the color is very bad (everything looked blue). Would be nice to replace with a new TV! Seating in main living area could use a larger couch or another sofa (only seats 4 people)? Tough to seat several people in this area. The grill needs some help as it is missing parts and is very rusty. Other than those several minor complaints, the home was very nice and comfortable! The location to the beach and pools is great! The only detraction we had was the construciton next door. They are building two new homes and the construciton was noisey at times and we could not enjoy sitting outside because of the noise. Once these homes are built, this will not be an issue. Overall, the home and location are highly recommended and great value for a vacation home!!! The house was great for our group of 2 families (included 4 adults and 5 kids). The house is well stocked for cooking and relaxation. (The beach chairs along with the umbrella was a bonus!) This was our second stay at Hammock Beach. The first stay was 4 years ago. The condo we stayed in the first time was in better shape but it was probably newer. Some of the furniture in this home showed wear and tear and some of the walls had worn paint. Overall, we had a wonderful time in this home. It had great extras- bikes, beach chairs, beach equipment. We did get the key stuck in a door after a bike ride and the property manager helped us out of our bind. He was quick to respond and let us in and bring us a replacement key. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. I think the paint and den furniture is in need of sprucing up. Starfish Birthday Celebration Week A guest from Crossville, Tennessee recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2011 While the house is lovely the furnishings in the living room and dining room need some upgrading. While the house sleeps eight there is only "comfortable" seating in the great room for five. A recliner or two would be great, or even another two-seater couch. The lighting in there and all the bedrooms are very poor for a houseful of "readers." There were not eight chairs for the dining room table. The kitchen needs many things: hotpads, baking dishes, serving dishes, serving and cooking utinsels and other items. The cookware was excellent but need more items that are oven and microwave friendly. Towels in bathrooms were fine but really could use more hand towels and some newer facecloths. The lovely bedroom on first floor with queen bed has no dresser or place to even set the luggage to use items directly from the suitcase. Also, at least one bedside table would be helpful in that room. Plus sides were the four bathrooms, the patio furniture and hammock, items to use at the beach and the bicycles were a big hit with our guests. I'm sure as soon as I send this I'll think of something else, but we all had a really grand time and hope we can return for another special occasion! It is located very near the beach (100 yards?) and only about a block to the two pools. We enjoyed riding the bikes (provided) around the beautiful grounds of the neighborhood and the shady sidewalks that line most of the streets. A Publix is only two miles away. We also enjoyed the views from the rooftop deck. Spring Break 2011 John S. from Grand Rapids, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2011 Spent first week of April 2011 at the Starfish House with my wife and three boys and also my nephew and his wife. House is very comfortable and is a perfect location to enjoy the beach and community pools, both a two minute walk. The gated neighborhood was great so you could let the kids run around the neighborhood without worrying too much. The house had minimal supplies but adequate. Only thing it really needed was patio furniture. The house has tons of deck space, but no chairs or tables! Other than that, the house is fanstastic and we will be back! Beach Getaway Spring 2011 Peter K. from Aspen, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2011 We had a great stay at the Starfish Beach House. The weather was rainy during most of the week but we didn't let that spoil our fun! There was plenty of room for 3 adults and 6 small children. We found the house clean and the website pictures/description represented the property very well. Reservations were easy, directions perfect and the entire resort was well kept. Numerous decks and excellent views from the crow's nest! The beach is a short walk from the house, we loved swimming in the ocean and strolling along the shore in the evenings. The cruisers in the garage were an added bonus. Some things that need attention, minor as they were: outdoor shower was broken, master bath needs towel hooks and more towels, kitchen knives need sharpening, lower level garage space could use some TLC. Those are small concerns compared to all the amenities of this home. Overall this is a great property that comes highly recommended if you're also looking for some R&R! Stayed for 6 days in March, 2010 info said there were two queen beds that didn't exist-only doubles. 250 channel TV was only basic cable-if some of the people we had invited had come they couldn't have slept in the smaller beds. Correct details are essential when you drive 460 miles and pay $243 a night. Great folks to do business with and we will definitely stay again. The vacation fabulous, great pools, great beach, close to everything. We brought 2 bikes down and the trip to Daytona was a quick one, we swam with the dolphins at Marineland, which was very close by, close to many great restaurants and grocery stores. Everything was convenient. The security guards were polite and helpful, and the place was very peaceful. The dachshund had a ball, it is rare to find a pet friendly place, that is truly so pet friendly. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2009 I thought the layout and furnishings were beautiful, as was the view of the golf course and ocean. It would have been nicer to be located beachfront. I was very annoyed at the dirt spots on the dining room carpet - was uncomfortable walking in there. Also unhappy with the 4 blue-handled forks (utensils were sparse) but we found a house that had caught fire in Flagler Beach and they had a dumpster full of kitchen utensils so we brought some back and washed them - now better supplied.
