Stroll to the Oxford Market for a nice bottle of wine and homemade bread or the kids can run over for some penny candy. Take a bike ride over to the Oxford Strand and hang on the town beach then catch one of the 20 flavors of the day at Victors Scottish Creamery. Your choice of 2 waterfront and 4 additional town restaurants for your evening supper or simply ask the local crabber Wayne - we'll give you his number - for the days catch steamed. Cooking in local from the Wed farmer's market is easy with all new Viking appliances. Crickets Cottage circa 1910 has been recently completely and sympathetically renovated. Experience living local in a small historic waterfront town - beware, you may find yourself looking to stay permanently.

Great Place, Bad Service Susan H. from Fairfax, VA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 Liked the rental, disappointed with Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals. Called twice (once a day two days in a row) regarding the wifi not working. Both times was told someone would call me back. Never received any phone calls. Apparently once they have your money they don't care about assisting you. Will not be recommending ESVR for that reason. Additionally, dishes at the rental were dirty- dried food on plates and pebbles (yes pebbles!) in the colander. Planned to tell ESVR people that instead of writing it in a review, but given their handling of the wifi issue I knew they would be unresponsive. Lovely town, quaint house A guest from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 We had a wonderful time in Oxford and were completely charmed by the town. The house is very quaint (as is customary in an 1800s home, the ceilings are very low, so if you are tall, you may struggle a bit!), and well set up for a couple. Our one criticism relates to the kitchen, which has been renovated to include a new Viking gas range. Unfortunately, the microwave style hood vent cannot keep up with the range - not even close - even when just warming food on the stove top. This, coupled with a super sensitive firm detector meant that we set off the fire alarm every time we ran the stove (whether stove top or oven), and even when we used the toaster. After 3 days, we abandoned cooking inside and resorted to the grill. It is a real shame, as the kitchen is a great set up. We think this could be a quick fix with a more powerful venting system. Nice, Quiet and Relaxing. A guest from Norristown, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2011 Had a wonderful time at Crickets Waterman Cottage! Was a cute, quite and relaxing place. Not a lot to do in town, but St. Michael's and Easton are a stones throw away. Has a couple tiny beaches and a nice park for toddlers. Very nice people in town. Relaxing English Cottage A guest from Hagerstown, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2011 enjoyed our week here....everything within walking distance...store..library..and park a few steps from the front door...great for our beagle dog who love to take long walks...would be nice to have a picnic table in the yard to eat outside...especially crabs...which were excellent from mastheads...if you wanna get away to do nothing....watch sailboats etc...rent a bicycle for the week....this is the place...nice tv and cable...would like to come back in the fall to use the woodstove....had lots of comments from the neighbors walking by on the flowers in the front yard...very peaceful place to be.
