For arrivals by plane: airport Bilbao (BIO) 38 km. Is formed by 11 valleys and sub-valleys firmly framed by mountains. Within Gorbeia, the mount Itxina, located in the municipality of Orozko, has its onwn personnality: it is an inhospitable landscape, with impressive limestone with numerous ditches, caves and chasms. This is one of the most beautiful and unique wlderness area of the Basque Country, the main cave is called 'Superlegor', it gave birth to many legends, among them is the notable one of the tempory residence of 'Mari', of the 'Lady Amboto' with her court of gentlemen and of spirits in the shape of birds and consultations. This is an area that has been inhabited since the Neolithis period, leaving few remains of dolmens, tombs outside and in caves. It is very rich in mythological legends, from the Middle Ages, which express, in a language almost unintelligible to us, the universal confrontation of death and survival trhough work, the overcoming of inexplicable and the unknown.
