Stayed for 3 days in November, 2012 This was our 3rd consecutive year of celebrating our Mom's birthday; starting with her 80th in 2010. We are four siblings and our expanding, changing families. At the bottom of the house is Baby Alley - three rooms designed for babies and their families. At the top of the house are the captain's perches - really just something quiet and remote enough for the geezers like me. In between are two floors of living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, noise, laughter, love and chaos. Right outside is a perfect Pacific Ocean vista, and right down the beach is the pier with all the stuff that young adults like to do - eat, drink, dance. We love this house, we love the total experience right down to getting booted out Sunday mornings by a busy but friendly and patient cleaning crew. We love this place, 823 S Pacific Ave in Oceanside. It may be your house, but it is our home for four days every year. Don't change anything ! Definitely Oceanfront, not Beachfront Court E. from Santa Clara, UTAH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2012 The Property is awesome and huge with nice furniture, and travertine floors etc, but I was really disappointed with "beachfront only" being the marketing landlord, I assumed that this property would be on the beach. There is beach for the morning til about 11 AM and then the tide brings the ocean all the way up to the rocks and then there is no beach. My family was expecting 10AM-6PM daily hang outs at a beach under a few umbrellas with the ability to walk a few feet into a vacation rental. Unfortunately we had to walk a block or two down the coast to get to beach where we could all "hang out" with the kids. We felt we should have just saved the money and got a rental two blocks from the beach and hiked down every day, because that is what we had to do. The kitchens were fully stocked but their were a couple spices that weren't there but that is small. Washing machines were very useful. Beds were big and comfy and we had a couple extra blankets. The upstairs living room held 25 adults comfortably and the 55" television was a perfect projector substitute. The rooms were very clean and quiet. We had a couple families with very young children, and it was nearly impossible to hear them through different floors! Overall, I highly recommend this property for large groups, family or corporate, and plan to come back to this location in the future. I would recommend having more hooks installed in the bathrooms b/c there's no where to hang clothes or our towels when taking a shower. other than that, we wil most definately reserve for next year. The furnishing were very nice and the kitchens fully equipped. We were even able to cook a turkey dinner. The bedrooms and adjoining baths were all quiet -- in spite of the children in our group. Our only problem was a miscoding on the door keypad when we arrived and that the house phone was a different number than we had been told. We particularly liked how easy it was to get to the beach and the deck/clean up area when we came back inside. This rental and its location were everything we had hoped. It was big enough to accomodate all of us, esp. w/ 2 full kitchens! One problem we had was connecting to the internet, but they always came to fix it right away! a few suggestions: would be nice to have a few more hooks in the bathrooms to hang the damp towels. not sure why the kitchen sinks didn't have a garbage disposal, but that would've been nice...overall, we will most likely stay again!! It couldn't have been a more perfect location. I loved that the beach was small enough that there were never any large crowds in front of the place, even though it was the best beach weekend of the year so far. The only problem we had was that the whole bottom floor backed up - the showers, the toilets, the baths, with everything overflowing before anyone realized what was happening. We could no longer use water upstairs and we had to cut our stay short by about an hour. Other than that everything about our stay was perfect.
