Wonderful! Stacey from Lake Shore, MD, Stayed for 0 days in October, 2012 This was our third stay at the Wild Yough, and we hope to continue the tradition for many years. If you seek the privacy and peace that being surrounded by nature brings, then this is the place for you. We arrived late on a particularly chilly night to discover the furnace wasn't working. Thoughtfully, Off Lake Rentals had left an abundance of space heaters. Unfortunately, while warming up the bedroom, a circuit breaker tripped, leaving us without power in that portion of the house. While my husband was checking the breaker, he repaired the furnace as well so we had a very comfortable (and warm) extended weekend. We really appreciate the selection of pet friendly rentals that Offlake offers as the dogs absolutely love it here! Walking the groomed trails down to the river was especially rewarding with our newly adopted 10 yr old Lab mix. I think it was her first experience in the woods, and it was heartworming to see her romping in the leaves. And as always, I can't say enough about the stellar customer service at Offlake Rentals. Thanks again! |

Great home with peace and quiet! Brian from Pittsburgh, Stayed for 0 days in August, 2012 Wild Yough is a great home in the middle of the woods close to Deep Creek Lake. The house is warm and inviting with fun games for the kids. (they loved the tabletop "shuffleboard" game). If you want seclusion and privacy, this house is for you. The kids also loved ping-pong in the game room. Off Lake Rentals (thanks Stacy!) was also great and included a treat for our little dog. On the downside for this house: - the weeds around the house and in the mulch beds are way out of control and very unkept. Someone really needs to tend to that. Way too nice of a house for that appearance. - there is poison ivy everywhere on the trails!!! Wearing long pants is must. There is also poison ivy around the game room and the former garden. So be careful you have been warned! We will rent from OLR in the future and hope to return to Wild Yough. Property Manager Response: Thank you for your comments. Indeed Wild Yough is a rather special property that is surrounded by 300+ acres of privately owned forest and then Garrett State Forest! Certainly in a wooded setting there can be all kinds of flora & fauna and we cannot control if there is poison ivy. While the miles of groomed hiking trails are cut regularly to keep them open, sometimes unwanted weeds/ivy may grow around them. Also, there is much 'grapevine' in the forest which is often confused for poison ivy - never hurts to know what to look out for in the forest - great job! We will talk to the yard maintenance man about working better at the weedeating. Obviously the 15 acre meadow is a nice treat for playing and they do a good job of keep that open for guest enjoyment. Glad to hear you had a lovely stay and we look forward to your return visit! |

Stunning! Renee from Irwin, PA, Stayed for 0 days in July, 2012 This was our first trip to Deep Creek and we are now hooked! Offlake Rentals was very pleasant to work with and the house was perfect for our family! My kids loved the trails and game room, and the adults enjoyed the peacefulness of the area mixed with the beauty of the house. Our pooch was even in heaven! A great place to catch a peek at wildlife (we saw turkey and deer regularly), relax with a book from their small take one/leave one library (great idea by the way!) or play one of the many boardgames offered. The hot tub was a bonus as well! We plan on visiting again and hope Wild Yough will be available when we are! |

The vacation rental for absolute relaxation. Bob & Donna DeBlase from Centreville, Maryland, Stayed for 0 days in June, 2012 The Offlake Rental staff was great as usual, even came out on Saturday morning when the storm the night before blew down a tree across the driveway. We loved the home, it was comfortable and has everything you would need. The view of the meadow from the row of windows or the screen porch is fantastic. If you love watching wildlife as we do, this is the vacation rental for you. We enjoy spending time at Herrington Manor and Swallow Falls State Parks. They are only minutes away, as is the town of Oakland. We enjoyed hiking the many trails on the property and relaxing in the hot tub. My grandson liked the fire pit and roasting marshmellows. I also had time to do some fishing in the Yough and landed a good number of fish. We would love to rent the Wild Yough again soon. The only thing we did not enjoy was losing electricty for 24 hours. Property Manager Response: What an eventful weekend and thank you for your kind words. Offlake Rentals would have to be pretty stupid to mess up the experience of our guests at Wild Yough - it is such a pristine setting! Of course losing electric in that wind storm that came through may have made you go 'more to roots' than you expected; however we were please with how few of our homes lost electric when hearing the horror stories of surrounding counties! We look forward to your return and, hopefully, it does not involve us visiting you with a chainsaw again! |

Secluded - beautiful - relaxing Roxy and friends from Pittsburgh PA, Stayed for 0 days in May, 2012 This is a wonderful property for those who want a pet-friendly environment in a secluded setting. There is plenty to enjoy both at the house, and outside hiking the surrounding grounds. The house is beautifully designed, and allows guests to experience nature even when inside. Great service from Offlake Rentals in keeping everything clean and easy to check-in and check-out. |

Offlake Rentals is the best! Cheryl G. from Severna Park, MD, Stayed for 0 days in October, 2011 It was a chilly weekend and the furnace wasn't working. Offlake Rentals went above and beyond to meet our needs. This was our second time to stay at the house and once again we fell in love with the house and property. |

Exceptional!! Cort and Marianna from Cardiff, Maryland, Stayed for 0 days in May, 2011 We like to be "away" from it all and this home is absolutely perfect. Only a few miles from town, but you feel as if you are a million miles away from everyone. We love Swallow Falls, and this home is only minutes away. The home is beautiful! The open layout and the screen deck is inviting as well as comfortable! We enjoyed many hours on the deck and around the fire pit. Relaxing in the hot tub after a hike to the river is a must! The kids enjoyed the game room and I enjoyed the peace and quiet that surrounds the home and property! We plan to take a telescope next time and take advantage of the dark nights. We plan to return to Wild Yough as soon as we can, it was the perfect vacation! Property Manager Response: You cannot know how happy this makes our entire staff to hear of your good experience! While Offlake Rentals knows that you are investing money in your vacation with us, we know that the limited vacation time is even more precious than the money. Certainly the owners improved an already outstanding vacation spot with their game room, completed Spring of 2011. We look forward to hosting you again soon! |

Relaxation & Privacy Stacey from Lake Shore, MD, Stayed for 0 days in October, 2010 We were so pleased with our stay in The Wild Yough. The setting offered complete privacy, with the house situated at the end of a 1 mile wooded drive. As nature enthusiasts, we enjoyed exploring the surrounding trails with our dog (thanks for being pet friendly!), who had a great time. The floorplan was perfect and we hope to have opportunity to stay in warmer weather so we can enjoy the screened porch. As for Offlake Rentals, I can't say enough about the service they provided. The welcome tote was a very nice (and much appreciated) touch. As the weekend was a gift for my husband's birthday, they even had balloons and a mug full of goodies waiting on the table for him. We are definitely planning a return trip! |

secluded paradise Happy Family from Takoma Park, MD, Stayed for 0 days in August, 2010 I have rented vacation rentals all over the us and Mexico. Wild Yough is the most welcoming, well-outfitted, and appealing home of all I have rented. Wall to wall windows, beautiful kitchen, and cozy floor plan that also allows privacy for family groups. My dog was also in heaven! Hope to return soon. Thank you! |

One of the best vacations ever! Pallis Family from Central PA, Stayed for 0 days in August, 2010 We absolutely loved our stay at Wild Yough. The week wasn't long enough! Although we didn't see much wildlife, we did hear the coyotes every evening and everyone loved hiking and biking on all of the trails around the house. The sun porch was great for reading and relaxing during the day. Our senior dog loved laying by all the windows and looking outside, as well as taking short hikes on the trail right around the house. The kitchen got rather hot when cooking dinner, but the house stayed very cool otherwise. We really wish the house was available to rent over the winter, as we come to Deep Creek for Thanksgiving and Easter and would love to stay at Wild Yough for all of our visits. |

Nature & Fun Bill & Michelle from Bel Air, MD, Stayed for 0 days in August, 2010 Very peaceful setting, great for dogs ( 2x labs), short drive to activities at the lake. Loads of trails to get some exercise in, tranquil setting with wildlife all around. The screened porch was perfect for napping (my favorite spot of the house). Horseshoe tossing, bonfire, hot-tub, trails to hike... this place has it all. Thank you. |

The Yough Maureen from Arlington, VA, Stayed for 0 days in November, 2009 The home is lovely, has many amenities, the location was perfect for the Autum Glory festival, however it was not very clean when we moved in. The stove has not been cleaned in ages and the floor had much tracked in dirt left from prior vacationers. Maybe I'm a neat nick but I left it better than I found it. Upon booking the home I was not informed that there was no central heating and only space heaters. I think that should be mentioned up front for future vacationers. The week after we checked out it snowed and frost was common in Deep Creek. Property Manager Response: Our homes are professionally cleaned between each renter, so the cleaniness issues are not acceptable with this home or any other home. The heating issue has since been corrected by the installation of a central heating system. |

Labor Day 2009 Leanne H. from Monessen, PA, Stayed for 0 days in November, 2009 Overall, a very nice property. The landscaping needed a little work in terms of weeds around the porch, those types of things. Very minor work, cobwebs on the vaulted ceilings. We very much enjoyed the deer and wildlife that we saw. It is a lovely house with a good set up. We would consider it again, to be five star, i need a lake view, but i will give a 4 3/4 stars!!! |

Quiet, secluded, clean home with everything you need for a quick blyfox from Frederick, Maryland, Stayed for 0 days in November, 2009 We enjoyed our stay at the "wild yough" very much. It was four adults and one child and we all had plenty of room to run around or hide away to gain some peace when we wanted. The house was well appointed and clean. Most of our time was spent relaxing on the screened-in porch. The location is way off the road but fits under the name "off-lake rentals" just perfectly. I would be hesitant to visit during the summer because of the house not having A/C. The house did not seem to have much air flow and it was quite warm in the afternoons. Perfect I'm sure for the winter months with the South exposure. The only thing that I would suggest is to try and cut the grass in the backyard near the hot tub and horse shoe pits more often. Overall, we loved the "wild yough" and would recommend it. Property Manager Response: Thank you for your kind words and comments about deficiencies. The owners have chosen to temporarily make Wild Yough unavailable while they address the air flow (new ceiling fans being installed, along with window treatments) and make other improvements. We are excited to have such a fine "Offlake Rental" to offer! Regarding the grass, Offlake Rentals, unfortunately after your stay, contracted with a local vendor to do a better job of maintain the grass. |

Camping in Luxury! glfgrl11 from Bel Air MD, Stayed for 0 days in October, 2009 Awesome home, fantastic place to get away from it all, beautiful property with abundant natural splendor. Perfect for families with pets or couples looking to relax and reconnect. Home is totally secluded with all your amenities at your fingertips. Very close to town and two AMAZING state parks, although you feel as if you are in your own private state park on this property. Only minus was no central heat if you are interested in going in cool/cold weather. Wish we owned this incredible property!!! |
