Outdated and dirty

The property was not very clean. My family and I spent a good deal of time the day we arrived cleaning the bathrooms and kitchen. The refrigerator had hair, crumbs and food residue in it, as did the kitchen drawers containing the silverware and cooking utensils. The sliding door in the oceanfront master suite was rusty and very difficult to open and close, so we were unable to enjoy the deck and view from our room. The bedspreads in all of the bedrooms were very old and cheap looking as well as feeling "greasy". Two of the bedrooms contained mattresses that had visible indentations in the center from so much wear.
The living room area contained 1 couch and 1 chair. I don't understand how seating for 4 people is acceptable in a rental that sleeps 12 people. The chair was old but comfortable for its age - the couch was another story. It was at least 30 years old and the middle seat cushion sank down into the couch. Needless to say evenings were uncomfortable. The carpeting in the living room, stairs to the second level and in the bedrooms was old and dirty. In one of the upstairs bedrooms the carpeting was stretched out, which created bumps and made it easy to trip over.
There was no dining room to speak of, but somehow a dining table and six chairs had been crammed into a very small area between the living room couch and the kitchen counter. As the table was positioned it was basically unusable. We had to pull the dining table out into the center of the living room (blocking the view of the television from the couch) so that we could have access to all 6 dining chairs.
The deck area was roomy enough and had a good amount of patio furniture. The deck stairs that go down to the beach were buried in sand, so you had to trudge though the sand down a hill to the beach which was rather difficult for my 91 year old father. Over time the sand had blown about and covered up all but the top couple of steps. The properties on either side of us had several steps going all the way down to the beach, so the condition of our steps was simply due to neglect.
We did bring these issues to the attention of the rental agency, but they seemed uninterested. This property is just outdated and run down. Pride of ownership does not exist here.

House was not cleaned thoroughly. Showers had liners only and they were ripped. Some of the curtians were not hanging properly. The cable was not working and tv was locked on one channel and had we had to wait 5 days for it to be fixed. There was a vcr in one of the rooms which is totally outdated. I would not recommend this beach house, neither will I rent it again.
