Bookhardt - North Here you will find a secluded island get-a-way nestled among the sea oats of the beautiful beaches. Everyday conveniences and shopping are only a short drive away to the mainland of Sneads Ferry. Here you will find grocery stores and shopping. Travel down to the waterfront in Sneads Ferry and you are transported to a real working fishing village complete with shrimp boats and local restaurants with today’s fare.The home features 4 bedrooms and the home sleeps 12 comfortably.The living area of the home is located on the first living level and features a large oceanfront deck with expansive views. The kitchen of the home is well equipped and ready for those seaside meals we all love.The large master suite features its own private balcony/deck to over look the beautiful sand and sea with someone special.Bedding sizes include King, Queen, Queen, 2 Bunks and a Queen Sleeper Sofa.No Smoking but pets are permitted with a $150 per pet fee plus tax. Bookhardt A can also be rented along with Bookhardt B for a person capacity of 24! 8 bedrooms! Linens are not provided, however can be added to your reservation. Ask a reservationist today!This property requires a 7 night Saturday to Saturday stay during our Maritime, Bungalow and Buccaneer seasons. A 3 night minimum stay is required during our Castaway season.No more pesky security deposits! Accidental Damage Insurance is included with all of our rentals....You are welcome!

Dirty, ugly and outdated. Beware.

My family and I rented both sides of this duplex property. We were very disappointed upon arrival. We spent quite a bit of time the afternoon of our arrival getting the place cleaned up. The kitchen, including the dishware, silverware, refrigerator, and cabinets were dirty. Food crumbs, hairs and sticky substances were found in the refrigerator as well as in the utensil drawers. We pulled everything out of the drawers and cabinets that we planned to use during our stay, and ran it through the dishwasher while we cleaned out the bare cabinets and drawers. The carpet throughout the residence was dirty, with stains, carpet burns, and worn spots. The living room furniture was ugly, old and uncomfortable. It consisted of 1 couch and 1 chair (seating for 4 people). This is hardly enough furniture for a rental that sleeps 12 people. Our entire family was unable to relax in the living room in the evenings due to the furniture shortage. The bedrooms were not much better with old faded bedspreads that looked and smelled dirty. The deck was nice and we enjoyed the ocean view, however there were a couple of pieces of log furniture that had bees living inside. A couple of us were stung on our first day there and we called the rental office to see if they could send someone down to either remove the furniture (it was very heavy) or have an exterminator take care of the problem. We had a baby with us as well as an elderly couple and a small dog. They said they would see what they could do, but they never did anything. The deck steps that went down to the beach were almost entirely buried in sand, so it was very hard for us to trudge down the hill through sand while carrying our beach bags, umbrellas and coolers. Other properties near us were able to walk down 10-14 steps and right out onto the beach as we should have been able to do. Not an easy walk with older people or those with children or pets. It was clear to me that the owners did not care about the comfort or safety of their guests, but about making money. No excuse for all this neglect. We did bring our concerns to the attention of the property management company, but they didn't seem to care. In fact, to date it has been 9 months since we rented this property and I see on their website that the same old carpet and furnishings are still there.
