Resort: Well-known, cosy city with 5'400 inhabitants, in a valley, 40 km east from Vigo, 47 km south-east from Pontevedra. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. For arrivals by plane: airport Vigo (VGO) 15 km. The district is edged by the Tea river which forms a deep valley. Important river beaches: "Cernadela", "Ceo" and "O Val". We know, through archaeological remains, that the site of this district was once lived in from prehistoric times, noted by the existence of a casket in the "Coto de Cividade"from Roman times. Places of tourist interest: famous Mondariz Balneario, Castillo de Villasobronso: origins date back to the medieval period (1130) and Puente Romanico de Cernadela: building serving as a stopping point for many travellers going to various festivals on both banks of the River Tea.
