Captain's Hideaway is a perfect home for your family reunion or conference. This large, newer, custom-built home located just seven blocks to the beach is beautifully constructed inside and out. The upstairs has an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings with sky lights and stone flooring. The fireplace in the living room will keep you warm on those chilly nights when you just want to sink into the overstuffed chair and watch the game on the big screen TV. There's never too many chefs in THIS large, spacious kitchen. The large wrap around countertop with bar, island, and the Jenn- Air range gives you everything you need for the perfect family dinner. The dining table seats up to 12 and there are sliding doors to the deck so you can bring the outside in with you. Downstairs, you will find two bedrooms and one full bath. The family room is equipped with a futon, TV/VCR and mini kitchen for any overflow you may have. There is also a washer, dryer and gas BBQ. Outside pets are ok and a large kennel is provided for their comfort. No smoking. Maximum occupancy 12 adults, 4 children; car limit 4.

There were 10 of us and it was nice to have space for everyone and a table big enough for the crowd! We enjoyed sitting out in the sun on the deck while playing games and reading. Great house, drive to beach A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2012 The house itself is quite nice. Good layout, with two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs, nice kitchen, decks, grill. The location is not really ideal for walking. It's a brisk 10-minute walk along a quite busy road (no shoulder) to get to the beach. Ok for adults, not so great for young kids. The walk into town is quite long. In the past we've stayed in South Manzanita (near the golf course) and really appreciated being able to easily walk to the park, ice cream, beach etc. I probably would not choose this location again. Overall, a great place to stay. Debra L. from Gilbert, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Overall, we were satisfied, though the dog kennel enclosure was unusable due to a large hole in the chain link fence and another at the base where a previous dog had dug through. The cable tv was not working upstairs so we only watched DVDs, which was not a concern for us. There were a few things that need attention: the bbq grill needs to be repaired, only half the burners ignite, the ceiling fan in the upstairs king bedroom does not work, and there is some mildew that should be removed in the downstairs bathroom. The house is VERY well stocked with plenty of linens, towels, dishes, pots, pans, etc. It would have been nice if the downstairs king bedroom had a usable closet or place to put luggage, we had to bring in chairs and set our suitcases on them for the week and had no place to hang clothes. We were VERY satisfied with our stay, would definitely stay again and would recommend to our friends! The kitchen was well stocked and it's nice to have laundry available. The water heater kept up nicely with alot of people. The dog kennel has a hole that the medium sized dog could escape from but other then that, we loved it! I highly recommend this property for large groups! Stayed for 3 days in December, 2011 The key to this home is the great room - that is, the living/dining/kitchen. The soaring ceiling and walls of windows make it a wonderful space. Wish there was a stereo, and better lighting in the living room, but overall this is a fabulous place, albeit a mental haul (though really just 10 minute walk) to the beach.
