4 bed townhouse with garden, Battersea Park, few mins to Chelsea

Large four bedroom house with great charm, perfect for families and groups and minutes from Battersea Park. Sleeps 8

This property is spacious and in an excellent location just south of the Thames.

The hallway takes you into the beautiful living area which features a large flat screen TV (with Virgin digital), an ornate fireplace and bay windows giving a feeling of spaciousness. This leads on the dining room with a large table, ideal when dining in.

At the back of this house on the ground floor is the long kitchen which has modern fitted cupboards and wooden work surfaces. It has all the modern amenities guests may need for preparing meals at home including an oven, hob, coffee maker, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a smaller round table and chairs for informal dining. The kitchen features French doors which can open out onto the decked garden.

The master bedroom is on the first floor and boasts a king-sized bed as well as a large bay window, bookcases, antique furniture and a flatscreen TV. The en-suite bathroom has a freestanding bath tub, a sink and a loo.

Moving up the stairs you will find another double bedroom with large windows for morning light, a wooden floor and an original fireplace.

The top floor plays host to two more double bedrooms featuring study desks and sash windows as well as stylish wood floors. These rooms can be made up with double sized luxury air mattresses. This top floor also has a large bathroom with bath/shower facilities, a loo and a washing machine. Please note, due to Victorian plumbing, the shower pressure is slightly weak on this floor. The toilet also needs a number of pushes to flush. That said, the current owner has lived here for well over 10 years and they do work - there is just a little knack to working them!

This area has many good restaurants, bars and cafes to enjoy, particularly along Battersea Park Road. You are only a 2 minute walk to Battersea Park which is a stunning 200 acre green space, to be enjoyed by all ages. There are many landscaped gardens with plants and foliage from around the world, a boating lake, a bowling green and a children's playground.

Stroll across one of the three bridges nearby and you'll be in the upmarket area of Chelsea and on the picturesque Chelsea Embankment. Why not take a stroll through the park and to the famous King's Road in Chelsea (less than half an hour's walk). This long street is well-known for its boutique shops, trendy bars and fine dining restaurants, and for those interested in art the Saatchi Gallery is at the eastern end of this long road, near Sloane Square. Around Sloane Square you'll find several luxury brands such as Tiffany & Co. and Hugo Boss, as well as more boutique outlets and cafes.

South Kensington for Natural History, Victoria & Albert and Science Museums is only 10 minutes by taxi, and Kensington High Street close by offers many more restaurants and bars.

The property is only a 5 minute walk to Battersea Park train station, where you can easily catch connections to all areas of the city. You can be at Victoria in 5 minutes and from there you could hop on one of three main tube lines the Circle, District and Victoria lines which can take you all over the city very quickly. From here you can be at Oxford Street for shopping in 5 minutes, and Notting Hill for the Portobello Road markets in 12 minutes. There are also many buses which run nearby which can take you directly to High Street Kensington, Knightsbridge, Belgravia, Notting Hill, Hyde Park and Oxford Street.

We should make guests aware that the noise of traffic can be heard when in the garden (from the road behind the house, although it is buffered by another neighbouring garden and does not back on to the road).

Area Description: "Situated in the London Borough of Wandsworth, Battersea is to be found South of London's inner city in Zone 2. Battersea is charming, quintessentially English and ideally situated between two of London's finest commons Wandsworth and Clapham and boasts a park of its own Battersea Park. Here you will find tennis courts, undulating and tropical gardens and even a children's zoo which is well worth a visit. Add this to the easy and quick routes into central London it is no wonder this area is home to so many of London's affluent families as well as trendy young professionals.

Guests staying in Battersea can reach Oxford Street and Leicester Square in approximately 20 minutes and the fashionable Kings Road and Sloane Square are a pleasant 30 minute stroll across the River Thames. The local area provides a large array of coffee shops, independent boutiques, trendy bars and restaurants as well as gelato shops and delicatessens. There is also the ever popular 'Butcher Bar and Grill' a fine blend of a local butcher shop and deli with an informal bar and grill. Head North towards the Thames and you'll find lots more pubs and restaurants along Battersea Park Road.
