This traditional home is one for culture lovers. The house is in a super location, with the museums of South Kensington, as well as a good variety of restaurants, bars and shops all within a few minutes' walk.
The sitting room is on the first floor and has an elegant ambience, with a yellow checked sofa, comfortable chairs and some interesting artwork. The furnishings are all soft shades, and the many lamps and patterned rugs make for a very comfortable and homely space. The collection of books throughout the house is very impressive so you wonÃ¢â‚¬Ëœt be short of reading material during your stay!
The kitchen-dining room is well equipped and is a lovely place for entertaining, with a dark wood dining table and a conservatory extension where a sliding glass door opens out onto the garden. Outside there's a table, seating for 6 people and a bbq a lovely spot for some al fresco dining in the summer months.
On the top floor you'll find a lovely double bedroom with bedside tables, a fitted wardrobe and more bookshelves. This room is decorated in neutral and relaxing shades and has a large window overlooking Clareville Grove.
There single bedroom is on the first floor with wooden flooring, a wardrobe, more bookshelves, an en suite bathroom with a shower, a sink and a loo. The family bathroom serves this bedroom with a shower over the bath, a Hollywood mirror, a sink and a loo.
On the ground floor you'll also find another guest loo and a study area near the front door.
Just off Gloucester Road and near Old Brompton Road, this house is in a much sought-after location in classic West London. It is only around a 5 minute walk to the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Science and the Natural History Museums. Continue heading East towards Knightsbridge and you'll find many lovely cafes, shops and restaurants to explore, as well as the famous Harrods department store. (The 74 bus goes along this route to Harrods and on to Selfridges.)
Many other areas of London are also within easy reach Gloucester Road tube station is only a 3 minute walk away and joins the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines. From here you can be at Westminster in 10 minutes, Covent Garden in 12 minutes and Oxford Circus in 15 minutes. There is a bus nearby which goes to High Street Kensington, the number 70 will take you to the famous Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill and the 360 bus goes from the Museums to Sloane Square and the Chelsea Embankment.
